Chapter 3 - Should I be happy?

Looking back at what happened in his previous run, he didn't exactly feel enthusiastic to go down the right path again and into the caverns where he tragically died a painful death.

Though there were mushrooms that gave him mana, he didn't exactly know how he could use that without any spells or anything. He could find out and use this run to try, but he shivered at the thought of just stepping foot there.

'Maybe I should just place all my stats to agility?'

He could also just test the stats out by placing all +3 into one and see how it affects him by how much. But he wasn't keen on dying, and another thing.

Rei learned from other regressor stories that his retries could be limited — unless answered otherwise — so he won't waste any precious runs.

Walking through the middle path, he found out that the dungeon architecture was the same, stone brick walls, floor, and ceiling, with blue bricks that lit it up.

To the left seems to be another entrance to the cavern, maybe the beast that killed him wouldn't be near the entrance... But for now, he journeyed through the middle path.

This path seemed to lead deeper into this sort of dungeon, it may even be the tutorial, but he doubts it. And the goblins came this way.

'I may be walking in a death trap, goblins that have poison will probably have some sort of smart-ass goblin on their side.'

Rei thought with a frown, in fantasy, anything can happen, his situation speaks for itself. Regressor in the deadliest dungeon possible — probably, probably not.

'I don't want to think about how much time I'll be spending down here dying, or experiencing fate worst than death...'

After a long while of walking through the tunnel, he began feeling anxious as it begins to get wider, and taller, gaps and crannies started to appear, along with the floor having missing tiles, and tiles that were raised suspiciously...

'I'm not falling for that one.'

But that did make him wonder, maybe he should just use the +3 stat points on [Agility]. It's possibly the best idea, being faster to react, to scout around, run, dodge, etc. Gaining more info too.

[+3 Agility!]

And so he did, he felt a little lighter, but the feeling soon disappeared when he got used to it.

Just after that choice, he encountered a four-way path, including back. Forward, left, and right.

'Well great, the three path looks the same here. May as well just doMinniee miny mo to decide.'

He just selected the right path, currently walking faster. He didn't want to run around and exhaust himself, but he also didn't want to take too long exploring all the paths.

WHOOSH

'From behind!?'

An arrow just passed him by, turning around he found a goblin with a short bow had been hiding on one of the sides.

'I should've been more vigilant.'

He dodged one of the arrows that came at him, seeing the effect of the increased [Agility], his reflexes were faster, along with his speed when he rushed towards the goblin archer while stepping side to side to make it harder for the arrows to hit.

The goblin archer, however, wasn't just an archer, it dropped its bow in exchange for a dagger.

'However, I have a further reach with a shortsword!'

Rei swung wildly, though calculated on where he was swinging. Trying to corner the goblin while also not letting it get close enough, it tried to stab him, but his left sword sliced a bit of its arm flesh, before, Rei slashed downwards on the goblin's chest and stabbed through it with his left sword.

And before it could cut Rei with the dagger, he let go of his swords and backed away, watching as the poison take effect faster.

"Bet those arrows are also laced with poison..."

Rei uncomfortably watched as the goblin continued to bleed out, even though he hated them. Rei still winced at the imagination of the pain he inflicted upon it.

"...Have a taste of your poison."

He mumbled, just before the goblin's limp body collapsed and a new notification appeared.

[Goblin LV1 killed: +15% EXP]

"I wonder how this experience thing works."

He thought, before pulling out his swords from the goblin, taking the loin cloth it had, and averting his gaze from its little brother as he cleaned the blood off the swords.

'I wonder if these goblins are despicable enough... Probably.'

He grimaced at the thought, before looking at the three remaining arrows laced with poison, and their short bow, he wondered whether he should take them...

...

A young lad with black hair carried on walking through a tunnel, wielding two shortswords with a small quiver of four arrows and a short bow with its string around his shoulder.

'I probably look stupid wielding this many weapons, I'm like a game character carrying as many weapons as he could. Except I don't have a pocket dimension of a backpack.'

He tried out all the things he could think of to summon an inventory, and as expected, nothing.

Rei stumbled upon a room, there were human and goblin corpses around, with more goblins dead than humans. The goblin corpses were either burnt or killed with a cut on their neck or a blade stabbed through their head.

However, for the human side, male and female, all of them...

"No way..."

Were wearing the same student uniforms as he had, it was all a chaotic mess of death in the room, no goblins remained, or humans.

Rei walked through the battlefield, wide eyes staring at the human corpses, he adjusted his glasses as he tried to see whether this was even real or not.

'Of course it is real you idiot!'

He gritted his teeth, he may have not interacted much with them, but he knew most of the class before he was sent here.

'Guess I'm not the only one in this dungeon. Should I be happy?'

Looking at the battlefield more closely, it seemed the fight had just occurred, the blood was fresh, and he could see a little flame still burning one goblin's flesh.

Rei's eyes then gazed at the other side of the room, where a wide entrance to a deeper room was.

He was prepared to fight through more goblins, and for the sight he might see, if this was a nest or not...

He entered through and found a humanoid figure, no, two, sitting on the side. One pointing a spear at him while holding a shield in the other hand, and the other, with illuminating white light from their hands, near a wound on the spear-wielder.

When they all gazed at eachother for a bit, their eyes suddenly widened in realization, another living student.
