On the way back, it was Alan who drove.
Xiang Wan and Zuo Xingyun sat in the back seat, making small talk now and then.
"Why did you finish dinner so early today? I thought it would be late into the night again."
Zuo Xingyun caught her hand and held it gently, "Mr. Xu must have passed away."
Xiang Wan didn't initially grasp what 'passed away' meant and was stunned for a moment, "So soon?"
"Yeah, Xu Zhiyuan received the news just after we left the restaurant," Zuo Xingyun sighed a little, "When people get old, this day comes for everyone. Sadly, those who long for his death are his very own kin. Sometimes, having too many children is not necessarily a good thing."
Xiang Wan shared this sentiment, "One child is enough, without any fighting or competing, it saves a lot of trouble."
At least as an only child, her experience was still quite good; nothing like what happened in the Xu Family would occur.
Zuo Xingyun naturally didn't have these kinds of worries either.
