Suddenly, a little girl dressed in soft pink ran towards them and, caught off guard, charged into the man known as Lao Hei.
Lao Hei had the chance to catch the little girl and prevent her from becoming intimately acquainted with the ground, but he didn't. Instead, he quickly dodged out of the way.
It wasn't until the little girl's loud cries rang out that he realized something and reached out his hand to help.
Shi Nian'an stepped in before him and lifted the little girl up, looking at him in some astonishment. Anyone else would have been puzzled; if it were her, she would have instinctively caught the girl as she fell.
The little girl's parents were not far away and had witnessed the entire scene.
The young couple ran over to comfort their child, casting strange glances at Lao Hei, which made Shi Nian'an feel somewhat uncomfortable.
