Chapter 1 - Prologue

Once born to a fool, you will always be seen as a fool. Eloise Nieves being born to the Duchy Von Nieves, never had her cards close to her chest as she was seen to the fool's daughter, who was easily discarded and was nowhere near as important as her elder brother Erik Nieves. Even Eloise's baby brother had a much more important role in the family as young Dominic was Erik's incase replacement.

It wasn't her fault on how she was born into this situation but she never was blameless as her actions is what caused the rumors to grow and caused her own downfall, to where the Duchy Nieves had no choice, but to turn their back on her when it came to the end.

Though not everything came to be left on Eloise's shoulders as everything in her life became perfect when she was set to marry the Crowned Prince Marcus Lodisious the III. She trained her whole life to become Marcus perfect bride, but everything seemed to slip from her fingers when Marcus came across a runaway slave, named Mel, and decided to bring her into his castle and she became his favorite company, and later was named the future Crowned Princess, even though it was perpostrious when she was indeed a runaway slave, and that even Eloise had prove of this notion.

However with too many incidents in the castle that all pointed all to be Eloise's fault, even though more then none of them were all but false, the last straw was when Mel was announced pregnant, and a few days later was poisoned and that the same poison was found in Eloise's quarters.

She was beheaded, but not before Mel came to Eloise's side and dropped a bombshell on her saying, "Don't think that any of this had anything to do with you, you were just in my way dear sister."

"S-sister?" Eloise asks looking up and past the curtains of her raven hair. How did she never notice until now, yes there is few things about Mel that didn't look similar, but that bleached blonde hair, and those stunning hazel eyes, where things that Eloise mother and eldest brother both inherit.

Mel steps back and looks down on Eloise, "Don't be so shocked. Almost everyone in this empire hates the Duchy Nieves family, I on the other hand just have my own reasons, and what better way to show that foolish mother of ours that I am her better by replacing her foolish daughter that she decided to keep." Mel smirked sickenly.

Those were the last words that Eloise remembers before she was beheaded and everything went dark. The last thing she thought to herself was, 'I was indeed the fool'...

..."My lady"...

Eloise heard something in the darkness, but couldn't care to listen. "My Lady Eloise!" the voice grew louder.

Some more rustling was heard in the distance, before another voice was called out, "Now you're playing dead?"

'How could I be playing dead, when I am indeed dead?' Eloise thought to herself.

"Stop your foolishness and wake up already Eloise!" someone yelled.

Eloise frowned at that voice, it sounded similar to... she decided to try to open her eyes and she wakes up in her old childhood's room to see her elder brother leaning over her with a displeasure look on his face. 'How is this possible?' she questioned herself. 'I should be dead!'

"You grow more childish by the day!" Erik huffed. "Causing so much trouble that your own servants had to come and get me because you refused to wake or even breathe. If you truly wish to be dead then do it elsewhere and not underneath this roof."

"I truly did think I was dead." Eloise whispered, "Was it all a dream?"

"I could care less!" Erik hissed before turning on his heel and leaving the room leaving Eloise alone in the room she hasn't seen in years.
