Chapter 4 - Unveiled Power

Soul couldn't sleep that night, her mind consumed by thoughts about the mysterious man and the revelation of her power. She tossed and turned, replaying the conversation over and over in her head. She had always known she was different, but this was beyond anything she could have imagined.

As the first light of dawn filtered through the curtains, she rose from her bed, feeling a sense of purpose that she had never felt before. She knew what she had to do, and she was determined to do it.

She stared at the black card on top of her night table. The mysterious Malik gave it to her last night before they parted ways. She needed to know more about what she was and what he could possibly be. It wasn't a calling card. It was actually a blank card that puzzled her at first, but he told her to hold onto it and always bring it with her if she wanted him to find her.

With a sense of urgency, Soul dressed and headed out into the early morning. She made her way to the park, a relatively quiet but public place. She had decided to take the day off from work and asked her assistant to take over the arrangements for the funeral scheduled in the afternoon.

As she walked, she couldn't help but feel a sense of apprehension. What if Malik was dangerous? What if he had lied to her?

Despite her fears, she knew that she had to face the truth. She arrived at the park and scanned the area, looking for any sign of Malik. It was still early, and the park was almost empty, except for a few joggers and people walking their dogs.

As she walked further into the park, she heard a rustling in the bushes. Her heart raced as she approached the source of the sound, unsure of what she would find. Suddenly, Malik stepped out from behind a tree, his black cloak billowing behind him.

"Soul," he said with a nod.

She took a step back, feeling a sudden surge of emotions. But as she looked into Malik's eyes, she saw only kindness and understanding.

"I need to know more," she said, her voice shaking slightly. "About what I am and what you really are."

Malik nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips. "I understand," he said. "But first, I need to know if you're ready to accept your destiny."

Soul didn't answer right away and instead, she took her time looking at his face in the morning. He was wearing a dark coat but without the hat that covered his hair and face the day before. She could see his face more clearly and she was surprised how bright his eyes were. Their shade of blue-green is quite unique.

As she looked at Malik's face, she couldn't help but notice how strikingly handsome he was. His sharp features and chiseled jawline gave him an air of sophistication, while his piercing blue-green eyes seemed to look straight into her soul. She found herself mesmerized by his appearance, unable to look away.

But Soul also noticed something else about Malik. There was a sense of otherness about him, something that set him apart from other people. It was in the way he moved, with a fluid grace that seemed almost supernatural. And his aura, the energy that radiated from him, was unlike anything she had ever felt before. It was both alluring and intimidating at the same time. Plus, he remained cold and almost emotionless. It wasn't easy to get a glimpse of what he could possibly be thinking or feeling.

Despite her attraction to him, she couldn't shake off her sense of caution. She knew that Malik was not like any other man she had ever met, and she couldn't help but wonder what other secrets he was keeping from her. But deep down, she also knew that she needed him, that he was the key to unlocking the mystery of her powers and discovering her true identity. And so, she took a deep breath and answered Malik's question.

"Yes," she said firmly. "I'm ready to accept my destiny."

Malik smiled at her, and Soul felt a surge of excitement mixed with fear. She knew that her life was about to change forever, and she wasn't sure if she was ready for it. But she also knew that she couldn't go back to the way things were before. The truth had been revealed to her, and she couldn't ignore it any longer.

"Good," Malik said, his voice soft and reassuring. "Then let's begin."

With those words, Malik took a step closer to Soul, and she felt the energy between them intensify. She took a deep breath and braced herself for what was to come, knowing that she was about to embark on a journey that would change her life forever.

As they stood facing each other, Malik extended his hand, palm up. "Give me the card," he said.

She hesitated for a moment before taking out the blank black card from her pocket and placing it in his hand.

"Close your eyes," Malik instructed.

She did as she was told, feeling a sudden rush of energy as Malik placed his other hand on top of hers. She felt a jolt of electricity run through her body, and her mind was filled with images and sensations that she couldn't quite make sense of.

When she opened her eyes again, she saw that the card was no longer blank. It was now covered in a shimmering, iridescent pattern that seemed to shift and change in the light.

"What did you do?" she asked, her voice trembling with awe.

"See for yourself", he answered, gesturing to the card in her hand.
