Geh and the others stared at their ranking with a mixture of fear and dismay in their eyes.
"How the fuck are we this bad," Geoni exclaimed, his face contorted with anger.
"How in the world are we only at 2% population and lagging two levels behind the top races? Is our race really that inferior?" Glores chimed in, further dampening the mood.
"I have a sinking feeling that it might just be our team and one other goblin team left. I don't know how we're supposed to win this game against demons and angels." Gyler added, his voice filled with concern.
As the group exchanged thoughts about their ranking, Geh interjected, "Hey guys, I've got a popup in front of me asking for a team name. Any ideas?"
Without hesitation, Geeler blurted out, "How about the Cute Gobbies?"
Geoni retorted with a hint of sarcasm, "Nice suggestion for an all-girls team, you mongrel. How about the Underdog Shadows."
Giller swiftly dismissed Geoni's idea, stating, "Let's keep that out of here, bro. I propose we go with the Snotty Savages."
Amidst laughter, Geoni couldn't help but mockingly comment, "Hahaha, what the fuck are you on, butterball?"
Turning to the group, Gingh asked, "Does anyone else have any suggestions?" He then looked at Geh, awaiting his response.
Geh declared, "If no one else has any other ideas, let's put it to a vote. Those in favor of the Cute Gobbies, raise your hand." Giller instinctively raised her hand, only to realize it was just her hand in the air.
"Alright, what about the Underdog Shadows?" Geh asked, and both Gingh and Geoni raised their hands in support. It dawned on them that they were the only two with their hands up, leading to the "Snotty Savages" becoming the winning team name.
Geoni, fuming with anger, exclaimed, "There's no way you guys chose that dreadful name for our team."
Giller, sporting the widest smile imaginable, retorted, "A person of limited intellect could never grasp the brilliance of geniuses like us, so stop trying, FitBitch." A popup appeared in front of everyone.
Goblins - 2% Population | Highest Team Level: 2 | Team Name: Snotty Savages
Another popup shows up right after shocking everyone that sets their eyes on it.
Race Mission: Defend Your Apex Citadel
System Rewards: LVL+ 2 Iron Chest- 1
"We get two levels for this quest?" Gyler looked at the new popup with curiosity.
"What the hell is our Apex Citadel?" Geeler questioned the new information that popped up.
Race Announcement: Teleporting To the Apex Citadel In Five Minutes!!!
"Wait, we get to battle with everyone in our clan?" Gingh said, questioning what's about to happen.
Geoni stated, "Isn't it just us and one other team? What are we even defending against? This game gives us no information to go off."
"All we can do is prepare for the battle ahead. It's probably going to be tough, so everyone should get ready," Geh said to his team.
The team started discussing what would happen and how they could minimize the damage they would take in battle. Everyone agreed, except Geoni and Glores, who seemed unconcerned about safety when it came to fighting. Their eyes were filled with anticipation for the next battle. Who would be their next victim?
After what felt like an eternity, the group finally completed their teleportation. Before them stood a massive, grotesque structure, oozing with a sickly green slime. The sight sent shivers down their spines. As they surveyed their surroundings, a vast battle arena stretched out in front of them. Atop the eerie structure loomed the figure of the Goblin Overlord Gomba, overseeing the fate of his race in this life-or-death game. But it wasn't just the unsettling scenery that caught their attention.
They noticed the presence of another surviving goblin team, but to their dismay, it consisted of only one individual. The lone goblin was huddled in a corner, trembling and sobbing uncontrollably. However, it wasn't just the sound of sobbing that filled the air. Echoing throughout the arena were piercing screams, emanating from cages that held captive female Elves, Dwarves, and Humans. Their bodies bore the marks of cruel scratches, some appearing lifeless while others trembled in fear.
"What the fuck is this horrifying place?" Geeler exclaimed, her voice laced with anger and disbelief.
"Yeah, we're screwed. This guy is the team still alive with us. It's not even a full damn team; it's just a useless piece of shit," Geoni remarked.
"Let's keep an open mind. We don't even know what we're up against yet," Geh said, signaling Geeler to try and cheer up the fellow goblin.
"Are you okay?" Geeler asked with a soft tone. Her calm and soothing voice seemed to break the stupor for a moment, but then the goblin went right back to where he started.
In the next second, "Splat!" No one knew what had just happened, but when they looked at the goblin, he was lying on the floor with a hole through his head, and Geeler's face was covered in brains. A loud, rumbling pound resonated, capturing everyone's attention and silencing the screams that were resounding the arena.
Goblins - 1% Population | Highest Team Level: 2 | Team Name: Snotty Savages
The Goblin Overlord Gomba's voice reverberated through the air, striking fear into the captive females while igniting a fierce determination within the Snotty Savages. With a commanding presence, he addressed the gathering:
"Behold, my loyal goblins, for this is our cherished realm, the Goblin Apex Citadel Snotspew Sanctuary, the place I call home. Know this, should this citadel fall, our entire race will face annihilation, and I, too, shall meet my demise. Thus, the challenge before us is twofold: defend our stronghold and seek out the hidden Apex Citadels of our enemies. These citadels hold great treasures and rewards, as proven only by the Ghouls who have managed to discover ours. That treacherous goblin I struck down revealed the existence of our realm, allowing them to find us so easily."
His words carried weight, emphasizing the gravity of the impending battles. The goblins braced themselves, fully aware that their enemies would unleash their might in a desperate bid for victory. Yet, the Overlord continued, his tone resolute:
"Alas, the gods have decreed that they shall not intervene, leaving the fate of our race solely in your hands, my esteemed champions. Remember, should I fall, our cause falls with me, and you shall remain trapped in this realm until we emerge victorious. So, rise up now, my valiant warriors! Fight with every ounce of your being to protect the lives and future of the goblins! Let our battle cry echo through these halls!"
With a final rallying call, the Snotty Savages were filled with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to face the oncoming onslaught and safeguard their people's existence.
As they are brimming with strength after the heroic speech and are now ready to fight they see three teams of the Ghouls walk through the door. The teams new confidence begins to waver as they see the team of the Ghouls that them alone have to face.
"How the hell are we supposed to win against three teams with only seven people?" Geeler exclaimed, frustration evident in his voice. Geoni and Glores, on the other hand, seemed to be sobbing with excitement for the upcoming battle.
Geh, realizing the odds stacked against them, tried to rally the remaining members of the team. "Remember we will die forever if we die in here so protect everybody and work as a team."
"You nasty fucking Goblins," a female Ghoul sneered, brandishing a pair of menacing gauntlets.
As they sized up the opposing Ghoul team, the Snotty Savages felt a flicker of relief realizing that some of their fallen comrades had managed to take down a few enemies. However, with still around 16 Ghouls standing against their mere 7 Goblins, the battle ahead looked undeniably grim.
"You guys have been snagging and raping women while trapped in this game. No wonder your race is on the brink of extinction. Didn't your god bother to inform you fools that death in this realm is permanent? You imbeciles don't deserve to live," a tall yet skinny Ghoul sneered, brandishing a spear and a small shield.
Geh takes charge, issuing orders to his team. "Be cautious! The enemy possesses unfamiliar weapons, so stay alert for any unexpected abilities they might possess. Geoni and Gyler, I'm counting on you to eliminate a few of them whenever possible, so we don't get overwhelmed. Everyone else fight as a team while the other too deviate their attention from our Assassin and Archer."
"Why do I have to stay back? This sucks ass," Glores grumbles, wearing a displeased expression.
"Don't be an idiot Glores, we have to survive, killing them comes second." Gingh asserts, aligning himself with Geh's strategy.
As the Snotty Savages sized up their enemy, they observed a diverse composition among the Ghouls. The opposing team consisted of 2 Archers (Bow), 1 Bard (Drums), 2 Assassins (Daggers), 1 Sentinel (Spear and Shield), 1 Berserker (Dual War Axes), 2 Mages (Staff), 1 Cleric (Orb), 1 Lancer (Spear), 1 Mauler (Club), 2 Brawlers (Gauntlets), 1 Knight (Sword), 1 Juggernaut (Warhammer).
With a forceful slam of his staff against the ground, one of the Mages conjures a massive smokescreen, engulfing the area in thick fog. The sound of the impact reverberates, disorienting everyone present. Geh quickly regains his composure and rallies the team once again, his voice resonating with determination.
"Prepare for an ambush! Remember to stay together and follow my voice if needed!" Geh's words echo through the dense smokescreen.
As the Snotty Savages find themselves blinded by the fog, their senses heightened, they hear the rhythmic sound of drums resonating from somewhere nearby. The drums create a steady beat, setting an intense and pulsating atmosphere.
The Snotty Savages form a circle while Gyler is behind the team and Geoni is sneakily walking throughout the fog to try and get to their backline mages. They hear roars of the impending Ghouls that are about to strike.
"Glores to your right!!!" Gyler states.
From the dissipating smoke, two menacing War Axes emerge, aimed at cleaving Glores in two. However, a resounding clash of steel reverberates through the air, abruptly halting the axes in their tracks. The Ghoul Berserker's face flushes crimson, as veins protrude from his muscles. Overwhelmed by the Berserker's newfound strength, Glores instinctively activates Phantasmal Veil.
"SWOOSH!"
The War Axes pass effortlessly through Glores' ethereal form, piercing the ground with a resounding thud. The Berserker stands befuddled, his mind struggling to comprehend what just happened. Seizing the moment, Glores swiftly swings his Scythe upward, carving a vicious path from the Berserker's chin to the crown of his skull. Blood gushes out of his skull, as the Berserker's eyes bulge with a red color. Despite the grievous wound, the Berserker persists, clenching the Scythe with an iron grip and forcibly wrenching it free from his skull.
"What in the world..." Glores is simultaneously captivated and frightened by the unfolding events.
The Berserker unleashes a barrage of strikes, wielding his axes with unrelenting force. Yet, they continue to pass effortlessly through Glores' Ethereal form, causing huge amounts of blood to spew with each futile swing. Sensing the end of Phantasmal Veil, Glores attempts to flee, realizing he cannot confront this relentless enemy alone. However, the Berserker's descending axes are abruptly halted in mid-air by a towering shield. Giller, resolute and unyielding, intercepts each strike with unwavering determination. The Berserker's movements gradually wane, until he remains motionless. A pool of blood collects beneath him, evidence of the gaping hole that extends from his chin to the crown of his skull. With a final, lifeless descent, the Berserker succumbs to the battlefield.
As the intense battle between the Berserker and Glores reached its deadly conclusion, a trio consisting of a Lancer, Knight, and Mauler charged ferociously at Geeler. Gyler, displaying remarkable marksmanship, unleashed a barrage of arrows that relentlessly struck the Lancer, puncturing their flesh time and again. However, the Lancer retaliated with a formidable jumping spinning strike, cleaving through Geeler's shoulder and leaving behind a gaping, blood-spurting wound that made Geeler gasp in pain. Meanwhile, the Knight and Mauler delivered a relentless onslaught from both sides, their strikes raining down upon Geeler with relentless fury.
Seizing the moment, the Lancer landed before Geh, who channeled his fury into a merciless assault, pummeling the Lancer until their once formidable frame was reduced to a battered and disfigured pulp. Each strike from Geh's relentless barrage shattered ribs, leaving the Lancer's eyes gouged out and their face unrecognizable. A seething anger burned within Geh, witnessing the merciless assault on one of his comrades.
In a desperate bid to turn the tide, Geeler utilized the Pool of Health beneath her, harnessing its energy to simultaneously inflict damage and heal her own wounds. Activating the Orb of Disruption, she charged forward, directing her focus towards the Mauler. With a swift and precise strike, her weapon found its mark, delivering a powerful blow to the Mauler's chest.
As the Mauler sneered with a condescending tone, "As expected, that's all a woman can really do in a game like this. I feel bad for your team that they have to carry you every step of the way." Geeler, unfazed by his belittling remarks, continued her relentless strikes, but the Mauler paid them no heed, relishing in the opportunity to mercilessly pummel her. Blow after brutal blow rained upon Geeler's battered form, causing her to cough up blood, yet she persisted, striking with every ounce of strength she had left, her body growing more broken with each passing moment.
Weakened and unable to withstand another strike, Geeler staggered backward, her body trembling with exhaustion. The Mauler, wearing the widest grin on his face, advanced towards her, poised to deliver the final blow, relishing in his anticipated victory.
"AHAHAHAHA! You are nothing to me, just a woman trying to—" The Mauler's triumphant laughter abruptly ceased as cracks began to spiderweb across his own body. His once imposing form became a grotesque sight as his cracked exterior filled with his own organs. Lungs spilled out, entangled in a mess of his intestines, while his heart writhed in a desperate attempt to escape the imminent danger within his chest. It was as if his body sought to flee the harrowing torment that was unfolding within.
"My strikes may not hurt the outside of your body but they make it so your insides do not work anymore." Geeler declared, a twisted smile forming amidst the crimson tide filling her mouth, as if she had just savored the most exquisite feast of her life.
While Geeler engaged in her fierce battle with the Mauler, the Knight locked his sights on Gyler. With a charging momentum, he swung his sword, aiming for Gyler's side. Swiftly, Gyler evaded the blade, retaliating by thrusting an arrow deep into the knight's ankle, causing him to stumble. Seizing the opportunity, Gyler delivered a powerful dropkick, sending the Knight sprawling to the ground. Without hesitation, Gyler unleashed a barrage of three arrows, precisely finding their mark in the knight's skull, followed by three more arrows piercing his heart, extinguishing his life in an instant.
As Geh, Gyler, and Geeler emerged victorious from their respective battles, their senses were filled with the haunting symphony of screams emanating from the shrouded veil of fog.
"AHHHHH, HELP!" The anguished scream pierced the air, sending a chilling shiver down the spines of everyone present.
"YES, SCREAM!!!" Geoni sadistically exclaimed, a twisted smile etched across his face as he locked eyes with the Ghoul Cleric.
With unparalleled stealth, Geoni swiftly closed in on the unsuspecting cleric, swiftly ending her life before anyone could react to the gruesome display. Simultaneously, the two Ghoul Archers unleashed a relentless barrage of arrows, transforming the battlefield into a deadly storm of projectiles aimed at Geoni. The Ghoul Mage ensnared his foot with entangling vines, restricting his freedom of movement. Despite the imminent danger that surrounded him, Geoni maintained a grim smile, his daggers dripping with blood.
Suddenly, a formidable shadow cast itself over Geoni as a voice cried out, "Guardians Aegisl!" Giller brought his shield crashing down, conjuring a colossal wall that towered over everyone present.
"How much longer until you're free?" Giller inquired, cracking his knuckles in anticipation of the imminent battle.
"Ten more seconds," Geoni replied with disdain, realizing that the person who had come to his rescue was the one he despised the most.
The four long-ranged Ghouls unleashed a barrage of projectiles at the towering wall, convinced that it would crumble under the relentless assault. Meanwhile, the Sentinel and Juggernaut charged towards Giller and Geoni, their intent clear. Giller positioned himself in front of Geoni, prepared to face the two adversaries without a weapon.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? YOU'RE JUST A TANK!" Geoni yelled, desperately trying to persuade Giller to protect someone else.
A resounding thud echoed through the air as the three combatants collided with each other. The Juggernaut swung his mighty Warhammer into Giller's side.
"Crack."
Giller's ribs shattered upon impact, yet he remained standing, ready to endure whatever came his way. The Sentinel viciously slashed through Giller's body, inflicting multiple shallow wounds that steadily bled. Undeterred, Giller intercepted another strike, this time with his hand. The spear pierced through his hand, causing him to grit his teeth in pain. With unwavering determination, Giller seized the Sentinel's arm and delivered a powerful punch. The impact landed on the shield, causing the Sentinel to stumble backwards, while the Juggernaut slammed his hammer into Giller's back.
"Crack."
Another bone broke as Giller staggered forward, absorbing blow after blow. Bruises formed with each impact, and Giller found himself crawling amidst his own blood. Finally free from the entangling vines, Geoni charged towards the Juggernaut, consumed by anger. Closing the distance within seconds, Geoni swiftly sliced the back of the Juggernaut's neck. The Juggernaut collapsed to the ground, clutching his wound and screaming in agony. Seizing the opportunity, the Sentinel abandoned Giller and charged at Geoni, thrusting his spear forward. However, Geoni slid past the attack with serpentine agility and swiftly struck the Sentinel's rib, shin, neck, and face in a flurry of lethal strikes. The Sentinel crumpled to the ground, lifeless. Geoni then turned his attention to the Juggernaut, who struggled to control his bleeding.
"You're going to experience true suffering," Geoni declared, his eyes filled with anger and hatred. He approached the Juggernaut and relentlessly stabbed his hands and feet, causing unimaginable pain with each slice. The Juggernaut pleaded for mercy, his desperate pleas falling on deaf ears.
"DID YOU SHOW MERCY TO MY BROTHER AS HE FOUGHT YOU BAREHANDED, BATHING HIM IN HIS OWN BLOOD?" Geoni's voice thundered with fury as he etched a new face onto the Juggernaut, ultimately ending his life.
As Giller and Geoni engaged in a fierce battle, Glores and Ceh took advantage of the distraction to stealthily maneuver towards the four long-range Ghouls fixated on the wall. Geh activated his Big Club, doubling its size, while Glores prepared to strike alongside him. With perfect synchronization, Glores' Scythe effortlessly pierced through the back of one Archer, emerging from his stomach. Glores swiftly flipped the Archer over his body, slamming him forcefully into the ground. Blood splattered across Glores' body as he retrieved his Scythe. Simultaneously, Geh swung his magnified Big Club with tremendous force, connecting with the side of the other Archer's head. The impact was so powerful that the Archer's head was cleanly severed, blood gushing from the gaping hole left in its wake. The lifeless body crumpled to the ground.
"PLEASE, PLEASE LET US LIVE!" pleaded the two Ghoul Mages who had witnessed the gruesome scene. Overwhelmed by intense fear, they dropped to their knees, sobbing and begging for mercy. Glores approached them with an expression of disgust, sliding the edge of his Scythe through both of their skulls in one swift motion. The two Ghoul heads became grim trophies adorning Glores' Scythe, a chilling testament to his victory.
"BADDUM BADDUM," Glores exclaimed in frustration, his gaze fixed upon the Bard who somehow managed to survive the chaos. The Bard, frozen in place with fear, continued to play his drums as if driven by instinct. Glores approached him slowly, channeling the power of Slayers Might. Veins bulged from his body, a manifestation of his unleashed ferocity. With a powerful leap, Glores descended upon the Ghoul Bard, his strike slicing through the body from groin to head, cleaving him in two. As a trophy, Glores impaled the Bard's heart upon his Scythe, a chilling reminder of his merciless triumph.
The two Brawlers closed in on Gingh, launching relentless attacks while he managed to strike back twice. They encircled him, their intent clear as they pummeled him from both sides. Sensing the urgency, Gingh unleashed his Whirlwind Fury, spinning with incredible speed. The force of the whirlwind sent the Ghoul Brawlers hurtling away, momentarily disoriented. As the whirlwind subsided, Gingh swiftly closed in on one of the Brawlers, driving his head repeatedly into the ground. The Ghoul became disfigured and life drained from his body.
Just as Gingh was about to deliver the final blow, the other Ghoul Brawler lunged at him. Thinking quickly, Gingh seized the bloodied Brawler and used him as a shield, deflecting the incoming strikes that landed on his fellow Ghoul instead. Blow after blow, the Brawler unwittingly killed his own companion. With a swift motion, Gingh discarded the lifeless body aside and delivered a powerful kick to the Brawler's chin, propelling him into the air. Seizing the opportunity, Gingh leaped into the air, executing a devastating downward kick that cracked the Brawler's ribs and sent him crashing into the ground below. The Ghoul suffered for a few moments, his body twitching, before finally succumbing to the ultimate silence of death.
As the intense battle unfolded, Gyler found himself targeted by the two relentless Assassins. They closed in on him with lightning speed, their daggers poised to strike. However, Gyler remained calm and composed, activating his unique skill, Bouncing Arrows. The two Ghoul Assassins leaped at him from opposite sides, their intentions clear. With swift precision, Gyler unleashed a volley of eight arrows towards one of the Assassins. The arrows found their mark, propelling the Ghoul backward, while also bouncing off his body and striking the other Assassin in the head eight times. The lifeless body of the second Ghoul Assassin soared through the air, and Gyler swiftly dispatched him with an arrow to the neck, ensuring his demise.
The remaining Assassin, realizing the futility of resistance, attempted to crawl away, desperate for survival. Gyler, however, had the situation firmly under control. He skillfully aimed his arrow at the Assassin's legs and released it, causing it to strike the ground beneath him. The impact sent debris shooting upwards, mercilessly impaling the Assassin's neck and penetrating his face. With that final strike, the last member of the Ghoul army fell lifeless.
As the dust settled and victory was achieved, pop-ups began to appear on everyone's screen, marking their triumph over the Ghoul army.
