Chapter 38 - Dominating Victory

"Why won't you die?"

A flurry of slashes was inflicted upon a singular entity that seemed to be an undeadly to compromise with the reality of death - it wasn't dying no matter how many times he would pulverize and make the femurs into dust.

It returned again and yet again - he couldn't understand what kind of creature was this Bone knightess?

'No.'

Booboo convinced herself that she could not perish until she held out long enough for her lord's plan to complete. Until then, she was fine and would continue to live again and again.

[ Primordial Survivor ]: For every two WILL the user has, resurrect yourself with one-tenth of all remaining stats except Willpower (2 WILL = 1 Life) until there is one point of remaining stat left. This passive skill will reset upon user resting and regaining 100% of the forfeited lives and stats.

It had been three times, including those slashes that had taken away her 3 lives - and no, this meant that she had seven left.

Due to being killed a couple times already, Booboo was significantly weaker than before - a 30% decrease in her strength.

While it is a powerful passive that would give her the chance to fight many times, the drawbacks were obviously hard to overcome as recovery of the stats would take days.

Anyway, it should have been about time that Julie would be done with that *thing* that she was supposed to wait for.

She gazed at the lazy looking figure wearing a black mask with jet black clothes. It seemed like they weren't even aware that they were in danger of being attacked.

'The right moment to return the favor.'

**

'It's all gone wrong - ever since we've been forced to fight that major unit.'

Vicuel Beckman was contemplating and regretting his decision, he was too hasty - and had fallen directly into the enemy's scheme.

When he had arrived at the battlefield, the first plan was to eliminate the Major Unit blocking the way and going straight for their summoner which had been hiding behind it.

But after cornering it and breaking through the tough shell strategy, he could never have imagined the enemy would have units capable of resurrection - especially not multiple times.

Despite the fact that it was plainly obvious that the unit was getting weaker with each attempt, he had already wasted hours trying to push forward for an advantage.

And his 'Insect Piranhas' had already all perished because of that goddamn knight unit.

He was getting heated.

But in his mind, he had been disciplined time and time again as a child.

Calming himself was not difficult, to see the whole picture was one of the distinctive traits of his.

He just had to finish this knight off and plan his next move carefully. The battle isn't won until it is really over.

His stubbornness will triumph in the end, and that was his current emotional state.

As soon he made that resolution, he was prepared to go all out as he wiped the daggers on his cloak and slowly made his way to the weakened unit.

"Now die! I have no time for games."

As he gestured himself as if he were going to approach the knight-

In a sudden turn of events, he propelled himself toward another direction!

It was going in the direction of the other person next to her, Aldritch was the real target in his new plans!

Even if Booboo was an Orange Grade, there was no way she could protect him with a weakened state.

And as expected, he was restrained by King Fisher - his life was decided by the enemy king!

'With this, you have to surrender - if you die here then you can't do anything to help your major unit.'

King Fisher had already concluded the war was within his grasp. But unlike what he imagined to have happened, his opponent was unphased and had only gestured to the Major Unit to attack him!

Inconceivable! There was no way for the knight to protect the king now when he was within his palms.

A suicide attack? No, that couldn't be. But he had to do something or else he would lose this advantage again!

Just as he was about to shank Aldritch's nape into data that became of everyone who died in the simulated realm, the air shook as if thunder had struck a lightning rod.

He felt a strong sensation which followed by his right shoulder unwillingly plunging to the ground.

Blood flowed like a typhoon that rinsed off the metallic scent object that was lodged into the right side.

'A Hook Spear?!'

King Fisher coughed out blood in realization as he was unexpectedly attacked from the side.

His eye wandered to the tortoise that was supposed to be protecting him.

A capsized sight was filled in his red visage like vision, both figuratively and literally.

On top of the tortoise that was turned into a carcass shell, standing on top of the dead were an appearance of a familiar summon…

A Valkyrie of the enemy force, it was an ambush!

He wasn't paying attention to his back - which he thought were safe - which only ended up digging his grave further.

But he can still have the captive!

Before he could negotiate, there was a remark of indifference and slightly overbearing tone to it.

"Come out. Lord said the game is over."

It was Booboo who was still approaching, lending her hand forward to the masked figure, who was presumed to be Aldritch.

Afterward, contrary to what King Fisher assumed, a strange creature made of fleshy tendrils that were not bigger than a sunflower removed the costume it wore and floated toward Booboo like an obedient housepet.

'It was a trick! He had been fooled completely.'

'The enemy wasn't going to fight fairly at all. It was just a ruse to hide the true intentions.'

The moment he was engaging with the knightess, it was already over…

His mouth convoluted into a frown, he knew that he had no cards left to play.

Seeing as Crimson Thorn hadn't returned to him it meant that it must have been defeated, and the fact that the enemy had another unit to infiltrate the backline and had backstabbed him like this means they had also dealt with the sporelings….

A checkmate. Even if he struggled fruitlessly here, there was little chance he could win against two, let alone three and other units that might be a reinforcement, ruining his chance of attempting resistance.

He returned the gaze toward the knight he had brutally killed many times in the span of an hour. The sword had been dangerously pointed near his heart and was now pointed right to it - a gesture used by knights to indicate for the opponent to surrender.

"...I have lost."

TyrantFTW has won the round.

1:0

Due to no units remaining, on the losing side, the War was concluded by the authority of Aetherline and Lastide.

May the victor be blessed for all the cosmic years.
