Chapter 16 - To Battle!

Two men walks into a village - there weren't any bar but there were a viking and an entity of unknown origins.

Jigmeh balancing a gigantic esophagus of the Sea Serpent he had slayed,

The elevated terrain made it difficult to hasten his pace but nevertheless this was no challenge for a battle-tempered fighter like him.

Of course, there was the entity that were shadowing him.

Literially that is me - This trip gave a lot of insight for my current predicament, mainly that i was mortality and psychologically disconnected by large part.

Sure, i am perfectly capable of touch, senses and utilize the items in this world fine -

However, by a force i could only dubbed as 'Dark Magic' in the current state, would not allow me to die by any regular means, whether it's drowning, blended- by typhooning my brain or using my skull to smash against the fringe of the boat.

Don't question why i did it, wouldn't you attempt to 'keep myself safe' by doing these science experiments?

No, just me? Well screw you too, you're just my inner monologue that is just keeping me occupied as we're slowly marching toward the village.

Speaking of village - it seems we've arrived, the villagers aren't coming out to greet him?

Wow, and here i thought he was popular.

Sucks to sucks - huh?

Jigmeh relinquish the esophagus for the ground to carry and leaped toward the village in a unsettling manner -

This strike me as one incident that maybe have to be taken seriously.

Such is life, as i'm a mere spectator to his epic tale - but there is one benefit to this new body given to me.

I have infinite stamina now, no matter how much i ran - i will never get tired.

What a geniune cheating bastard i became!

' Here i come, Eyla! - I will take revenge on your condescending attitude as you messed with the wrong Leucognia, ehehe! '

I pontificated on my fantasy and dreams that will never abundance or granted,

But a man can dream right?

The viking who were supposed to be hailed by celebration wore a darkened face hidden behind the helm - persumbly as if Fimbulwinter were replaced by the flower petals and applauding from his countrymen.

" What has taken place here? Men, explain the bad omen! "

Jigmeh ordered as he bellowed toward the gossiping crowd of fighters with discolored expression and sinful dejection upon seeing the return of Jigmeh.

" Oh, mighty slayer! Jokharr it was- "

One of the bowl noseguard helm fighters attempted to reason with Jigmeh,

Except whilst he spoke, a trail of footstep noises intruded and approached a lady that everyone could recognized as equal in term of legendary status to the Slayer.

" Jigmeh, calamity has struck! Julie has been sacked by the sirens,"

"She has gone out this morning and i've discovered a runestone next to her home!"

Yrel cried as she hared toward the boy that became independant from her,

But hadn't changed his bearing, he was her prized treasure.

" Moder, show me these runes you're bespoken about! "

Letting himself being empowered by his foster-mother's grip and being led astray to the housing of his fiancee - or rather missing fiancee at the present time.

' Jokharr, my tribe challenge you, the fearwielding human of the north to Holmgang. Thy spoils is the spouse - you have until moon (Monday) to appear in our turfs! '

" Cowards, they anchored my limbs to set off on saving my own wife!"

He growled in outrage - it would be an understatement that he would merely end their lives, even the valkyries of Valhalla wouldn't be able to guide these to the afterlife!

Yrel could solely brandish herself and steeled for the misfortune that has occured,

She uttered a sentence that alarmed Jigmeh to his very core!

" Jigmeh, don't worry about me - you're a good boy, so just follow your heart. "

" There is no fear you couldn't conquer, you don't fear the possibility or the uncertainty that might rose. Be the yourself that you always wanted to be. "

She smiled at the boy and leaned tipping on her toes upward to pat his fearsome head -

He has grown so much that the height seems to be reversed from that day, he began brandishing his tales and coming back home.

" Moder...I "

The viking he who wear the helm of fear which hide his visage and sillhoulette - because he is a fighter and an embodiment of fear itself... was fearing to heed his mother's wisdom for the first time.

His mother never inquired or obstruct his goals - she determined to always support him, but why today has to be one where she would be opposing him?

"...I will heed your wisdom, modor - Stay safe and always save yourself. "

Jigmeh muttered under his breath regarding the last sentence - he knew his mother wasn't that type of person, but if there was a chance.

Could his mother just be selfish for once?

" Go, my little Jigmeh. Your tales hasn't ended with this old bones are you now? "

No matter, he will return to his home - He was a protector of the house and nothing will change that!

Alongside his tumultous mind appeased by the rationality and mission he had accepted.

His barbaric and primal desires to devour the fear and vitality of the new challengers were boundless and freed!

" To Battle! "

He shouted at the top of his iridescent vigor that transform him into the incarnation of the Slayer of Monsters itself!

Axes, belts and many tools for slaying and blood brimming,

He sets out onto the mountain that were the islands of sirens: 'Sirenum' lies.

And following him staying true to his trusty poet or alternatively, the shadowy spectator that has been watching his entire journey - was engrossed by the main quest that could finally end his tourism in this world.

Heavy footsteps reverberate throughout the mountain - the illuminating crystal and cyan colored forest gave an impression of a 'magical forest' from the legends that would be written as a place of impossibility,

However its overbearing and refreshing outlook from the mundane forest of the past life - is definitely worth keeping as a memory i think.

Come to think of it - this place contained much of effervescent and enchanting mana enough that if i didn't have any context beforehand i would have assumed this was a real place of it's own and not something that i summoned from.

In fact there wasn't any evidence to support the claims that there weren't any other worlds than Terra and Earth, maybe someday i can find that out?

Although that will be for another time -

As we were at the foot of the mount, Jigmeh seems to be fiddling with a map while muttering about the 'enemy camps' and 'returning swiftly' or whatever it was.

Let me think - i have an idea on how to help my summon, since he gave me an interesting show.

" System, is there anyway to communicate with my summon? This is urgent matter - If he dies here then i won't get anything from it. "

[ The system at best could give him visions of your presence and your intentions. ]

"Good enough, this will assist me well. "

It's only right if i return the favor right? - With that goal in mind and speculation, i insisted upon the system.

" Shadow Glimpse on ahead of us on the map, if my speculation is correct - this might be one of the strongest ability i have to my current arsenal!"

[ Active skill: Cost 20 Mana ]

" Do it. "

A viking disgruntedly concluded his plans to conquer the mountain expecting some resistances and traps along the way -

It will be treacherious and perhaps time-consuming, but he didn't have Odin's eyes to expect his adversary from anywhere.

For all that - he suddenly felt a crawling leer upon his existence, it was the 'Leviathan' that reckon to have awakened.

Just when before he is allowed to take a breather - the entity approached him in a monotonious manner.

The Viking wanted to resist but he didn't wish to fight whatever this thing is.

As it is within his arm length - it reaped his quill with the abominable tendrils and ink down several spots on the location he was going to raid.

" This is..? "

Ahead of what he could possibly analyzed the ' Leviathan's ' motives, his perception was violated by indescribable whispers of mystifying unknown.

It had maintained and declared a stance on what he was seeking for all this time.

'The shadow of the enemies'
