Suddenly feeling the vibrations and screams from outside, Fang Mo was quite startled, to be honest.
"Damn it!"
He exclaimed in shock, dropping his toothbrush and hurrying out of the bathroom. That's when he saw the doctor, crushed under the weight of a car on the bed.
Despite the creatures of House of Evolution each being talented with pleasant speech, the creator, Doctor Genus, was merely an ordinary person. Now, with several tons of car pressing down on him, his bones were shattered instantly, and he was continuously spitting blood from his mouth.
Truly.
It was a miracle he was still alive.
"Damn it! Doctor!"
Seeing the toy he had tricked for so long grievously injured, Fang Mo immediately became anxious. "Doctor! What's happened to you, Doctor?!"
"..."
Doctor Genus, of course, was in no state to respond to Fang Mo, overwhelmed by pain.
However, after being brainwashed by Fang Mo, Doctor Genus' personality had completely changed from before. Previously unafraid of death, now he too was fearful, thus he quickly looked at Fang Mo with pleading eyes.
Little did he know...
This pleading look shook Fang Mo to his core!
In a trance, his consciousness traversed through time and space, and the original silver surgical table appeared before his eyes again, with Potts, Nick, Natasha, Ho Yinsen, and others anxiously looking on.
Remembering all this.
Fang Mo suddenly felt an inexplicable peace of mind.
So he slowly bent down, looking closely at Doctor Genus, and began to speak slowly under the other's bewildered gaze:
"Please rest assured, Doctor. The words I am about to say might upend your understanding, but in fact, my existence is older than this land, even older than the current civilization. Throughout my long life, I have witnessed too much pain and cruelty. Initially, like others, I did not care, as any life is trivial and laughable compared to this vast land. But later, when I met you in the Tower of Babel, I realized that even I could care about something. So, I began to learn ways to heal the pain, even though these methods often bring more meaningless suffering..."
"..."
Listening to Fang Mo's long speech, Doctor Genus remained stunned in place.
Indeed, he wasn't just dazed; the severe injury and excessive blood loss were beginning to blur his consciousness.
And while Fang Mo continued to babble on, like the Riddler.
The desire for survival in Doctor Genus, waiting for rescue, was gradually extinguished, eventually giving up completely as the light in his eyes slowly faded.
"Doctor, are you still listening, Doctor?"
But it wasn't until that moment, caught up in his rambling, that Fang Mo suddenly came to his senses: "Damn... it's over, Doctor!!!"
Seeing that Doctor Genus was really about to pass, Fang Mo stopped his idle talk and quickly drew a Blade, plunging it forward.
With a squelch, a series of crackling noises came from Doctor Genus' body, his bones realigning, his ruptured organs healing, and blood being conjured from thin air, his pallid face quickly regaining color.
"Phew..."
Seeing this, Fang Mo took a deep breath and then casually kicked the car flying out.
The front hood of the car burst open violently, the bumper and the entire front collapsing inward, followed by a loud boom as the entire car was violently flipped over, whistling as it flew out through a large hole in the wall.
Soon after, a huge explosion sounded outside.
Then there was a burst of cursing and commotion.
"Huh? What the hell is that noise?"
Upon hearing the commotion, Fang Mo instinctively furrowed his brow. According to the timeline of the current game scenario, there shouldn't have been any major events yet.
Could it just be some monster causing trouble outside?
But then again... could this car be the hotel owner's?
With that thought, Fang Mo curiously poked his head outside.
And just like that, he saw a bunch of shiny bald heads.
But these bald heads were not Saitama or the Ancient One, but rather a group of burly men with fierce looks, all dressed in uniform black powered armor, resembling some kind of violent organization, wreaking havoc outside.
"Why should we do the work!"
Suddenly one of the bald men shouted angrily at those around: "You like to work, huh? I'll smash you!"
With that, he grabbed a nearby fire hydrant.
The passage describes a chaotic scene involving a character with powered armor. He dramatically rips out a heavy cast iron fire hydrant, which sends water spraying everywhere, and hurls it towards a distant restaurant, shouting defiantly about not wanting to pay for his meal.
"Uh?" reacts Fang Mo as he finally grasps the situation.
This event is indeed a part of the original story, although it's such a minor plot point that many have chosen to forget it. Yet, it sets the stage for many key developments later on, involving various organizations like the Hero Association, the Ninja Village, and the Machine God Group—acting as a bridge to future narratives.
The violent, bald strongmen causing havoc are members of the Paradise Group—a bizarre and violent group seemingly opposed to regular employment. Led by someone named Hammerhead, they are not interested in working and have resorted to stealing battle armors to wreak havoc.
Despite calling it vandalism, they have indeed killed several people by throwing cars into hotels, which could have been lethal if not for the intervention of certain characters.
In the original story, these men aimed to kill a wealthy individual in Z City but were thwarted by a ninja named Sonic, who is comparable in strength to Genos. The Paradise Group met their end without suspense, annihilated completely.
However, Sonic, due to a mix-up, encountered Saitama who also aimed to take down the Paradise Group, leading to an unexpected conflict. After being defeated by Saitama, Sonic vowed revenge, persistently training to challenge Saitama again, only to be consistently defeated.
Remembering this, Fang Mo nods thoughtfully. He needs someone to vent his frustrations, having initially focused on Genos who only recognizes Saitama as his master. Now, it seems Sonic might be a suitable companion for Fang Mo, given his flexible moral compass and daring nature.
Deciding to deceive Sonic into joining him, Fang Mo makes up his mind and instructs the doctor to wait for him as he sets out to seek revenge.
"Revenge?" the recently recovered doctor asks, startled.
"Doctor, you should understand what I mean. This land..."
"Alright, I'm fine now. Go take your revenge," the doctor cuts him off.
With that, Fang Mo smiles and jumps through a large hole in the wall.
Below, the Paradise Group members, oblivious to the danger, continue their rampage, randomly throwing street lamps, cars, and fire hydrants.
Suddenly, they hear a loud thud nearby. Turning, they see Fang Mo smiling and approaching them.
"Who are you?" one of the members frowns, annoyed. People usually flee in terror, but here was someone walking up to them boldly.
"Where's your leader?" Fang Mo asks, looking around but not seeing anyone who looks like a leader.
"None of your business," another member retorts, stepping forward as his armor expands, ready to strike at Fang Mo.
Facing the attack, Fang Mo simply waves his hand upward casually.
"Take off."
As the words fell, the members of the Paradise Group had not even had a chance to react when one of them suddenly let out a scream and shot straight up into the sky.
This was not merely being thrown into the air; it was as if gravity itself had been reversed. The member kept soaring upward with no signs of stopping, accelerating instead. Eventually, he disappeared into the depths of the atmosphere, vanishing without a trace as if swallowed by the sky itself, a chilling sight.
"What the heck is this!?"
Seeing this, the rest of the Paradise Group finally panicked, "Is he a hero?"
"Where's your leader?"
Since these people were just a bunch of lackeys, Fang Mo was somewhat reluctant to interact with them, lacking even the inclination to fool around.
At this moment, all Fang Mo wanted to do was to find their leader, Hammer, and then take the opportunity to capture Sonic and force him to become his disciple.
"Let's go together!"
However, after exchanging glances, the bald members of the Paradise Group suddenly made a decision and charged towards Fang Mo.
Of course, the outcome was quite clear.
More than a dozen shadows screamed as they fell through the air until they passed beyond the dispersing layer.
"This…"
The last little boss of the Paradise Group was truly terrified upon witnessing this scene. His pupils dilated in shock as the outrageous sight before him surpassed his comprehension. Now he dared not charge forward and instead turned and ran.
Seeing this, Fang Mo slowly raised his hand, intending to pull him back: "Bansho..."
But just at that moment,
Suddenly, the sound of screeching brakes came from not far away.
"The hero of justice has arrived!"
With a roar, a man dressed in cycling armor leapt out, blocking the path of the Paradise Group's little boss: "Surrender, I am the Class-C hero Mumen Rider..."
But before he could finish speaking,
The desperately fleeing little boss of the Paradise Group slapped him.
"Get lost!"
The black mechanical armor emitted a buzzing sound, and like swatting a fly, it sent the newly arrived Class-C hero flying away.
Mumen Rider screamed, unable to withstand the force of the impact, akin to a heavy truck. He flew out like a kite with its string cut, then slammed into a distant wall with a loud bang, and slowly slumped down, losing consciousness.
"Oh, this..."
Witnessing this scene, Fang Mo was also stunned.
He recognized Mumen Rider, a Class-C hero from the Hero Association. The man was genuinely just an ordinary human with no superpowers or talents but possessed a strong sense of justice, even willing to sacrifice himself to protect the weak, a very likable character.
But the problem was... he was genuinely weak.
In this world overrun by monsters, he wouldn't stand a chance even against tiger-level monsters, let alone dragon-level or demon-level ones.
To other heroes,
It might just be a flick of their fingers.
But for Mumen Rider, it could cost him his life.
Yet even so weak, whenever others were in danger, he would rush in without hesitation, even using his own life to buy time, striving with his last ounce of strength.
Honestly, Fang Mo quite admired this shining aspect of his humanity.
He even considered taking him on as a disciple.
But the guy's heart was a bit too kind, which was somewhat inconvenient for Fang Mo's own schemes, so after some thought, he shook his head.
"Never mind, we'll talk about it later."
Shaking his head, Fang Mo momentarily put aside his plans and raised his hand towards the nearby Paradise Group's little boss: "Bansho Ten'in."
With a slight glow from the void ring.
The unmatched gravitational force forcibly pulled the opponent back into Fang Mo's hands.
"I... I was wrong, sir..."
After being forcibly pulled back, the little boss of the Paradise Group was clearly terrified, tears streaming down his face as he begged for mercy: "Please don't throw me up there, I beg you, I'll go to work tomorrow... no! I'll go today! I'll work 7 Days a Week, 365 Days a Year, I can even lick my boss's shoes!!!"
