In a modern day world where gods where nothing more than that of delusions, resided a young high schooler Kairos, nevertheless young, was a theist along with getting good grades. Although favored by his teachers, was tormented for his gloomy appearance and was disliked by the popular students and their lackeys, but was always devoid of resentment or animosity towards them. He was abandoned by his parents at the age of 4, his uncle took him in and as soon as he reached high school, attained a scholarship and moved out. In the new city he relied upon the financial support provided by his benevolent uncle.
One fine day as he was returning back to his house he stumbled upon a small child who seemed to be lost. The child ventured towards the road with a careless disregard for the potential danger, unaware of the approaching truck, in a swift act of bravery, Kairos intercepted the truck's collision intended for her, taking the impact instead. The forceful impact with the truck rendered Kairos unable to rise and resulted in severe injuries. Despite courageous efforts, he succumbed to the overwhelming blood loss, sacrificing himself to save the child.
As Kairos gradually regained consciousness, fluttering his eyes open, found himself immersed in a boundless expanse. Surrounded by infinite void.
Amidst the expanse Kairos heard and enigmatic voice, which seemed to emanate from all sides. Its origin eluded him, leaving him uncertain and intrigued of its source.
"Heed my words carefully, you have been appointed as the new god of time in the celestial world where the survival of the fittest prevails. Do your best to rise to the top. I am allowed to answer 2 of your queries."
Kairos though carefully and considering his current condition.
"What happened to the previous God of Time?"
"Unfortunately the previous God of Time met his demise to the hands of the God of Lightning Zeus."
"Why was I selected?"
"It is after his demise that Chronos deemed you worthy of carrying his bequest."
"Your 2 questions have been answered now you shall ascend to the celestial realm as the God of Time. Increase your proficiency in Time Magic and become a worthy successor."
Kairos enveloped in a radiant white light, and traversed into the celestial realm.
