Chapter 26 - A man who can't have the courage to show his love is just a coward.

In a dim room, with windows shut in, few rays of sunshine enter the room through the corner giving the much-needed light to see.

It was mostly empty, with little to no furniture. A bed at the centre, a desk and chair by the window and a cupboard beside it. Simple of all. The plain old ceiling and worn-out green wallpaper.

On the bed, there were two people, a man and a woman, both hugging each other as they remained asleep.

"My lord?" Someone knocked on the small door causing the man to groan in annoyance.

The man got up from the bed naked and put on his pants before walking up to the door and opening up. "How many times do I have to tell you not to disturb me when I am here?" Arthur spoke frustrated.

His fingers rubbed his eyes, as he looked at the soldier. The soldier lowered his head, "I apologize for interrupting but his majesty sent a letter." The soldier forwarded the letter.

Arthur glanced at the letter and heaved out, taking the letter from his hand and closing the door. The blonde man stood there opening the letter and reading through it.

Once done reading it. Arthur reached for the matchbox in his pocket and lit up the letter and tossed the ashes away on the floor.

By then the woman on the bed woke up, walking up to him. Her golden curls covered her as she walked across the room, naked.

"My lord? Are you already leaving?" She called, her fingers touching his bare chest slowly tracing down. Arthur kept quiet, letting her play.

Flora kneeled, unzipping his pants and revealing his erect member. "But it seems your c**k isn't done playing," Flora commented, stroking it. Her eyes looked up at Arthur for permission. Seeing him not trying to push her away, Flora's eyes gleamed, putting it in her mouth, sucking it.

Agatha laid down on her bed after feeling stuffed from dinner. Even the name of food would even cause her to throw up. As she lay, the maid knocked on the door bringing a candle to her room for her to change.

The maid gave her glances as she lit the candles in her room. Agatha was quick to notice the glances she was getting from her. In the end, she sat up straight, "Is there something you wish to say?" Agatha inquired.

The maid stopped, and stood up, "I apologize, Your Highness. It's just…" The maid was hesitant to speak further.

Agatha squinted her eyes, waiting for her to answer. The maid sighed, her eyes lowered, "I just thought that his majesty cares for you a lot."

Agatha shook her head, sighing she almost got worried there. "What's your name?"

The maid looked at her in fear. "I must have spoken too much. I apologize for my ignorance." She kneeled down, whimpering in fear.

"Name?" Agatha didn't budge and repeated her question.

The maid went quiet, after a bit of hesitation, she stammered, "L-luna." With bitter tears rolling down her cheeks, knowing this was the end for her.

"Make sure to inform Stanley that you are my lady's maid from now on," Agatha informed, resting back on the bed.

Luna was taken aback by her words. With astonishment, she looked at Agatha on the bed. "Your Highness?" Luna couldn't believe what she said. Her? Lady's maid? That was an honour for lower class nobles not for a commoner like her.

"If you don't wish to be, you can reject it," Agatha remarked, lazily glancing at the woman on her knees.

"No! I will serve you till my death. Thank you, your highness." Luna bowed, grateful for the opportunity given her.

Luna saw tired Agatha and without annoying any further, she left. Closing the door. Agatha took off her shoes and rested her head on a pillow, closing her eyes for a few minutes.

Suddenly she felt the door of her room being opened, and the steps of someone entering the room. Agatha went for the dagger under the pillow and waited for the steps to get closer.

As soon as Agatha felt her mattress move, she opened her eyes, trying to stab the person with the dagger. As soon as Agatha it was none other than Xavier, she withdrew her dagger, breathing a sigh of relief.

"You almost assassinated your husband." Xavier took the dagger from her grasp and threw it away. Agatha laid back on her bed, "If you enter someone's room like a thief, you are not going to get welcomed." Agatha responded with a scoff.

Xavier sighed, her tongue was definitely sharper than that dagger. He laid down beside her, holding her by the waist. "Old habits die hard."

Agatha's brows furrowed, and she looked at him squinting her eyes. What did he mean by old habits?

"Old habits?" She asked.

"Do you think I can survive even a day without seeing you?" Xavier sighed.

"Yes," Agatha answered nonchalantly.

"..." Xavier went quiet, how much faith she had in him?

"The right answer is no. Not even a single day." Xavier continued. "I always watched from my office whenever I could. And I always visited you while you slept."

Agatha went quiet, her face mixed with emotion, "That's…weird. If you were not my husband it would be creepy to watch a grown woman sleeping. No, even as a husband it is." Agatha commented.

Xavier was speechless. This was wrong. At Least a bit of romance, maybe blushing. But all she could say was creepy.

"I thought you would be happy knowing I did love you." Xavier sighed.

"If you had loved me, you would have gathered the courage to come in front of me and not watch me from behind," Agatha stated, with a straight face.

"A man who can't have the courage to show his love is just a coward," Agatha spoke, sitting up straight.
