It was 2050 and the world was in uproar. A decade prior these so called "entities" revealed themselves through messengers on earth and revealed that powers would soon blossom in people, ordinary or not. While a stay at home parent might get a weak protection or healing ability, people like politicians, would get abilities of deceit, trickery and manipulation, that was ofcourse not always the case.
Through testing, humans understood a feeble part about how abilitys where allocated, through external factors, brought by the time of awakening aswell as the environment, minimal changes would happen.
As an example 200 firemen were split into two equal groups and monitored for 6months, which was the interval for human awakening, that only applied after reaching the age of 16 though.
the first group was forced to only participate in rescue missions.
The second group was tasked with stopping wildfires and fires, that could lead to potential disaster, but without people to rescue.
The first group developed mostly water based abilities, that could also heal, shield and support in general, but were restricted in assault potentia, there were still people who broke the Norm, but that was standard.
The norm in the second group was a development of abilities, that had higher offensive potential, or a wide area of effect.
Humans couldn't understand the reasoning behind it a lot, but thought that the circumstances you were in or the experiences you went through, shaped your abilities.
Then they found a text of a philosophy, who tried to classify belief and religions into categories, while he himself was an atheist, it weirdly resonated with the process of awakening.
It was split into 3 stages.
The theological or fictional stage
The metaphysical or abstract stage
The positive or real stage
The theological or fictional stage, had three under-stages, aswell as two ways to search for causes of unexplained events
, but that isn't important for this.
Higher beings, or objects are used as an explanation for phenomen that humans can't explain.
the metaphysical stage, where 'concepts' are used to embody certain attributes and are used as an explanation, as an example "humananity" which embodies the indomi human will, recoursefullness etc.
and lastly the positive or real stage, where science and logical reasoning is used as an explanation for things.
Humans split up into three factions that valued one of the stages more, thinking they would get better powers if they followed one of these stages to the extreme.
People started to manipulate little kids from the day, they were born, withholding technical advancements, scientifical advancements etc., or withholding anything relating to religion and believes etc.
It got even darker than that, some would let their kids live in darkness till their 16th birthday, showing them through the internet the outside and letting them step outside exactly when they turned 16, to create strong longing etc. l, these were only some if the examples, all in all, parents were mistreating their kids, hoping for better lives themselves, or getting manipulated by the government l, pushing agendas to just do that, make their lives as extreme as possible. If you were rich enough, you could do the opposite ofcourse, since it was also an extreme, shower them with riches and everything they desire.
The generation that was born 2 years before and 8 years after the first awakening got a name, the most fked up generation.
Now the government didn't allow things like that anymore, a lot of people didn't care, but it was a small percentage, the main character was obe of these kids that got horrible parents. They didn't understand the way, it destroyed the kids, since they were a bit too old when the most fked up generation, was born and weren't included in it
