While Samantha and Ivan left the Inn using the carriage, Cassian used his steed to ride to the main entrance of Fernwood where the Palace guards awaited his presence. When he approached them on his steed, they immediately recognized him as their Majesty's companion. With no need for introduction, they acknowledged his presence with a slight bow, and Cassian made his steed come to a stop.
"We received His Majesty's message." The commander in charge of the guards stepped forward to speak, "where is His Majesty?"
"I may not be your real leader, but you're going to have to take me as one tonight." Cassian said to the guards, "we have to keep the Courtesan house surrounded, both the front and the back of the building till I give you my signal…. His Majesty is on his way to attend the meeting, so we must stay at full alert, and ensure no harm comes to him. Do you understand or am I speaking in parables?"
"We understand."
