Chapter 1 - My bad

The two suns scorch down upon me, An irritating feeling that would've been fine if I didn't have bitch of an angel babysitting me.

I look at her with disdain, she flies above watching me with a look of annoyance and vigilance. I would've run off but she won't allow me. I look down at my suit, it's one of the marvelous inventions that is now almost reduced to nothing but a hindrance.

My body is weighed down by it as there is little to no power left, My other inventions are in the small pocket dimension stored in the suit so I can't do anything.

I can't talk to anyone, hell I rather sowed my mouth shut than talk to that angel that got me in this situation in the first place.

I guess I'll talk to myself then, if you are wondering why I'm in this situation in the first place I'll tell you but first after this monologue and introduction to the world I inhabit.

This huge mass of land is called Eryndor, I see, to forget the reason since I wasn't a huge fan of history class but It was something to tie in with the Goddess of life and light who named their first daughter Eryndor buts that's not the point. This world was created with different magical species like elves, orcs, goblins, and others, but this led to a dispute between these races. whose god was greater. This conflict led to the first holy war. The war ended in a brutal stalemate, the elves hid in the great forest with their world tree, the orcs went to the dark lands while the goblins hid in caves. This uneasy stalemate led to one of the lesser gods known as Addai who created a new race known as humans. Humans dominated the continent, stretching far and wide, the gods also love them as they were diverse, and they worshipped many deities.

Their favoritism went unnoticed as a few groups of each race decided to wage war against the humans, demolishing their presence over the continent. Some of the remaining humans grew in fear of magic and beings so they decided to become an isolationist group known as the last order.

The last order made innovations and progressed throughout, they eventually discovered that electricity can be a good source of power to them. what would've taken a civilization centuries to achieve the last order made in decades. the became the first and only nation to make an advanced utopia.

I was eventually born, and at a ripe 20 years of age, I was one of the renowned inventors of this wondrous society I called home.

I got off the gravity train, it was raining out but I had a goal in mind. The walk there was uneventful, only hearing the sounds of the somewhat occurring screeching sounds that happen. I had a rain cloak that covered my entire body, I was close.

I came face to face with an electronic fence, I took off my cloak revealing my suit, it was somewhat mechanical with parts of carbon fiber, I jumped over the fence with ease, my suit had mechanical joints that allowed me to make it.

The tall structure I'm looking at was the reactor that powered the entire city and its barriers that protect us from the outside.

I walk over to it, took off one of the panels, and pulled out a small machine from my suit's pocket storage dimension, I then connected some cables from the box to the panel.

During my trespassing time, I failed to notice a certain someone that is flying above me.

"What do you think you're doing?" Someone above me questioned.

I slowly turned my head, an angel was flying above, shit.

Angels you see is the only magical being allowed here in the last order. We citizens still worship a few gods such as the goddess of life and light to which she sends down angels periodically to make sure we are still safe.

Angel's are supposed to be nice and kind yet she looked pissed. She had blonde hair and perfect skin. Golden eyes. Her armor is intricate and unique compared to all other armor. Her white wings flapped.

"Answer me mortal"

"Yes yes sorry lady. I'm just powering up my small device you see here" I show it to her.

"You are intruding on government territory. That is a crime and you will be arrested and punished. Come in quietly or violence will be used" she threatened

"Hm. Huh... yeah sorry lady but I kinda don't want to..." I said with a grin.

She somehow looks more pissed, that I swear I heard a blood vessel popped.

In an instant, she dives down towards me with her armed stretched-out palm open.

In response, I pull out a small device that looks like a light bulb, in that second everything around us was surrounded by a bright light.

This blinded her thankfully, to this she crashed down onto the wet mud. She quickly got up looking very pissed, her golden hair was now caked with mud.

"You should've gone along quietly human. I Hera will deal punishment upon thee." She then pulls out a hilt with no blade.

Her mysterious magical armor then shines to which face armor covers her, there were no holes for you to look out of so it must be magic to allow her to see.

Her hilt now ignites and a blade of pure divine flame burst out.

I quickly get ready I quickly use the screen on my wrist to withdraw some of my items from my pocket inventory.

I pull out a massive rectangle, it was to shoot out massive amounts of energy because of this I called it the god Slayer. I then equip a face mask that I based on the angel's design.

"You dare mock us? Your mask is an insult to us beings." She lifts her sword above her head and brings it down.

The flames grew in size which I had to quickly dodge, the heat of it was unbearable to be around. My suit quickly adapted to the temperature, I then use the side panel of the god slayer and shot out a massive beam at her. She dodged with ease but I then pulled out a small pistol and fired hitting her directly in the face. It didn't do much damage but it pissed her off even more.

She dashed towards me cracking the ground around us, I got stagged to which she then hits me with the flame's sword.

The impact hurts, but the flames somewhat didn't burn, it felt hot but it also felt like it was judging my actions, my sins, and my ideology.

I was sent flying on the ground, stumbling feeling broken ribs from that hit.

It hurts to breathe, the air was knocked out of me, and I struggled to get up.

She looked down upon me

"It seems you're not as sinful as it seems. Pity I would've liked it if you were burned."

I got up wobbling, trying to gain balance.

"Haaah doesn't sound angel-like of you" I clapped back even if It sounded somewhat weak

A bow appears out of thin air, the bowstrings were connected to stars that floated in place, and the handle was crafted out of quartz and lined with gold. She pulled back an arrow made out of light.

"Judgement will be served" She then releases it towards me. I had little time so I activated a voice command

"Safeword!" A barrier of pure blue energy surrounds me. The arrow hits and explodes, the impact was so strong that it hit everything in the vicinity.

After the explosion my barrier was weakened and around me lay a crater.

I checked the energy the suit had left. Only 5% battery life left. I decided to get rid of the power to my helmet if I wanted to finish this fight. She draws back another arrow, I pulled down the barrier and used the suit's remaining power to chuck a ball toward her at full force.

The ball hits her and it releases a rope of pure energy that tangles her arms up but it also let her shoot an arrow that went off course.

That of course hit the reactor. It blew up, the impact had enough force to blow us back.

Not a while after that the government had sent a group of officers to deal with me.

To make a long story short. I blew up 1 of 2 reactors that powered the entire city including its barrier. Now only one reactor is barely keeping that afloat. My punishment was exile which was unheard of. If I was to pay the city back was to retrieve the only thing that powered it. A life crystal. I had no idea where a goddamn life crystal is but they sent me out anyways, not like I had much in the city besides my lab.

I walked off, my suit was heavy due to the low amounts of power left, the only thing I had before I left to the outside was a bag.

For the first time in probably forever the gates to the city were opened. I had to go through multiple big gates until we reached the final one. It opened, and small vines ripped apart from the outside, It was somewhat new to me. I had always thought I would stay in the city.

Hell, I was excited to go out, the first step I took was noticing how hot it is, the city probably had created some sort of artificial temperature to combat this heat.

I walked for a good ten seconds until I heard flapping behind me, I turned and looked up and saw that same irritated face from before.

"er- lady I forgot your name but I believe I was sent to do the bidding of the city why are you here?" I asked

She looked even more annoyed and scoffed, She didn't answer but followed me anyways. I ignored her and continued walking, I was taking in the landscape, large fields of grasslands, but I also see signs of a battlefield that happened here.

I walked off down the overgrown dirt path, the city walls grow distant and distant.

Now we are back where we left off, it has been hours since I left the city, and the angel still is an annoying fly. I don't even know why she is still following me.

I passed by many structures, statues, and many interesting sights to behold on this journey. I wanted to inspect them yet each time I tried I get treated like a dog, she responds with a hiss each time I get close.

I wanted to run but alas my suit is out of power, eventually, the two suns started to set, and it was getting darker so I decided to rest up for the night.

As I struggled to light a fire around the meager amount of firewood I managed to find Hera watching from above.

I sat down next to the small fire struggling to stretch in this heavy suit, I looked up at her, she was still flying watching me.

"Yo uh lady I'm going to stay here for the night so maybe you don't have to keep flying up there?" I asked

Her brows furrowed, she said nothing

"I mean I'm not going to do anything, the suit is out of gas."

She let out a long sigh and landed down but remained standing.

"So why are you following me? kinda weird of an angel like you." I questioned her

"I was also unjustly punished by my boss for taking part in the destruction of the reactor, So I was told to watch over you to make sure you get the crystal. If you asked me Its an insult to someone like me" she said with venom

I chuckled "I mean what makes you so different? To me, you're no different than the countless angels that travel down to the city per month"

In a blink of an eye I was being pushed against a tree, both of her arms on my neck.

"Say that again!" she yells

"You're... n-no different l-like the rest" to which the tree finally snaps and she throws me on the ground, she was then atop me both hands still choking me.

"I AM ANAHERA THE FIRST SWORDBEARER! I GUIDED THE FIRST HERO, I GIFTED HIM THE FIRST DIVINE SWORD" She pauses to try and collect herself.

"To guide a person like you is an insult to my legacy! my reputation! you think you're special because you have these devices but without them, you're a nobody a pathetic mortal who should've killed himself a while ago! I-I... Why me?..." she was crying then, her tears were gold, falling upon my face.

we stayed like that for a while, she stopped choking me but we still stayed like that. She then got off and sat across from me, resting on the tree, eyes still red staring at me.

I stayed like that for a while, still too scared that she changed her mind to snap my neck like a twig.

Eventually, I got up and rested against the broken stump of the tree, she still watched me. My eyes grew tired, the exhaustion of the past hours of walking was catching up to me.

I woke up hours later, the fire died out and the two suns were rising from the mountaintops. I looked over her she was sleeping, it seems that angels can sleep.

I thought about running and that's what I did.

Hours passed and I eventually felt safe enough to catch my breath. I noticed a sign

Willow brook ↑

A town! This is great news

"Nice job finding a town mortal"

A sudden chill went down my spine, I slowly turned around, she was right behind.

"H-hey I was just getting a head start you know ha..ha?"

I was then met with a punch to the gut, the air was knocked out of me.

"Next time just wake me up," she said terrifying cheerfulness.

I struggled to get up and looked up at her. She was smiling at me

"Hurry up lets go!"

I'm gonna die.
