Chapter 18 - I'm a Genius

Lucius mounted the majestic wyvern, giving it a gentle tap on its stomach. In response, the creature unfurled its magnificent, dark-green wings, and with a mighty flap, it generated a powerful gust that threatened to displace the onlookers.

As Lucius ascended into the sky, his gaze lay fixed in the direction of the royal capital of Tamian. At that moment, he reaffirmed himself, knowing that failure was not an option for this crucial mission.

After hours of enduring grueling cold winds, slapping his face, Lucius was relieved to look below and see the magnificent city, it was a tapestry of vibrant colors, its architecture a signifying kingdom's grandeur, the massive city however paled in comparison to the capital of the Divine Kingdom.

He surveyed below and couldn't help but notice the people going about their daily lives, unaware of the impending storm that loomed on the horizon.

As he approached the grand landing platform of the royal palace, Lucius was met by the imposing figure of the royal guards, who recognized him as Prince Cedric's trusted advisor. He then dismounted his wyvern and was ushered into the audience chamber, where the king awaited his report.

King Vitra sat upon his throne, his regal presence commanding respect. He motioned for Lucius to approach, unsuccessfully trying to hide his eagerness to hear the news.

"Lucius, you bring news from the frontlines," the king spoke with a tone that conveyed both concern and authority.

Lucius kneeled before the king, his voice steady yet filled with urgency. "Your Majesty, I come bearing news from Prince Cedric. We have successfully taken the city of Iztil and the surrounding Iztitlantza province. However, the Capat Divine Kingdom has declared war on us, demanding our immediate withdrawal."

King Vitra's brows contorted as anger was, "Do those filthy Capatians have no self-awareness, they dared to kidnap a member of the royal family and yet they stand proud, acting as if all the blame is lay with us, they think we are weak Lucius, but we shall show them the might of our Kingdom, we will not yield to their demands,"

The king signaled to his attendant and a scribe was called in and was commanded to write the words of the king "I Vitra Al-Briz, 89th King of Brizia hereby grant command of the 1st to 5th legion of the Royal Armed Forces to Prince Cedric Al-Briz for the duration of the conflict between the Capat Divine Kingdom and the Kingdom of Brizia."

After hearing the decree, Lucius heaved a sigh of relief, 30,000 men coming to aid the prince, he was confident that with the forces they had they could even take on the entirety of the divine kingdom.

The attendant collected the paper from the scribe and bowed before the king then said "I shall issue these orders to the commanders of legions one to five"

He then faced Lucius and stated "The forces will take up to a day to be ready to march to Iztil, no doubt the trip will take up to a week due to the number of people and supplies we have to transport"

"You needn't worry, I had taken that all into consideration"

"Very well, you may rest in the palace for the time being, the guards will show you to your quarters."

**Meanwhile in Aimel**

Following the return home, Barrett has realized that security across the palace has increased, limiting his freedom, so he has to come up with a new way to secretly practice magic.

He came up with the idea of using his afternoon nap time as well as a couple of hours out of his nightly rest to practice.

While laying in his crib and faking a nap Barrett thought about his "experience" with magic.

'I tried practicing the spell but it went horribly wrong, I think visualization, as well as intent, has something to do with how powerful the spell is,'

A sudden realization struck him, and he exclaimed in his thoughts, "Oh no! Do I need a magic teacher?" Yet, determined and resolute, he quickly dismissed the idea, confidently declaring, "No, I can do this on my own!"

His resolve strengthened just like that as he rolled over and pressed his tiny arms on the bed and got up,

"Ahhhhh" he muttered while straining as he climbed his crib.

After going over the top and slowly making his way down he stood facing his familiar room, with the minor alteration of the hole being fixed and the window replaced.

He turned towards the window aiming to make a less destructive version of his initial attempt. He focuses and visualized the eruption gently from out of his body and gestured his fingers just like he saw and softly whispered "Zephyr"

A soft gentle breeze was summoned and the curtains blew in the direction he signaled thus his hypothesis was confirmed.

'Hm, I don't need a teacher after all'

What he needed now was more spells and more incantations, but he had no clue where or when he would get them. He racked his brain and thought of all the possible places but alas his thought bore no fruit but as his frustrations grew he had a sudden idea.

'If visualization, hand signals, and intent control so many aspects of a spell, then why is there a need to say a word for the spell to activate, in theory, I could achieve the same result with those three things alone but my intent and visualization would have to be 10 times stronger, but what's the likelihood of this even working...alright let's not get demotivated this is my only choice right now, I need to test this

Barrett closed his eyes, his tiny body nestled on the ground. With unwavering focus, he delved into the depths of his imagination, visualizing the essence of wind swirling within his core. He could almost feel the gentle breeze brushing against his skin as if the very air within him came alive.

Taking a deep breath, Barrett allowed the vivid image to consume his thoughts. He felt the energy build-up, coursing through his veins like a crackling current. With each exhale, he willed the wind to manifest.

As he exhaled, a soft sigh escaped his lips. Suddenly, a faint gust of wind stirred within the confines of his room. It danced playfully, rustling the curtains signifying that he had done it, Barrett's eyes widened at the scene in front of him.

"I actually did it, I'm a freaking genius'
