Days seemed to go in a flash. After Lucas had arrived, there was a certain closeness he exhibited than before and it made her feel safe. Maybe she didn't have to return back to her mother. That was probably why she was brought here.
To change things.
She sat on Lucas's bed happily, her face holding a rare smile. This was it. Everything was going smoothly and nothing could ruin it.
"Lilian!." A voice called urgently and she turned back to see Celestial.
"Celestial? What are you doing here? How did you even get here?." Disbelief couldn't even describe what she was feeling right now.
"There's trouble at the coven. Queen mother has disappeared, the coven has split in half, there are riots, and queen mother's sister has formed a group known as the dark witches!." She said hurriedly and Lisa waved her hands in the air to make Celestial stop.
"Calm down Celestial, panicking wouldn't solve anything." She assured and stood up, her fingers fiddling with her gown nervously.
So much had happen in the past few months that she had not been there.
"Why did you come to me?." Lisa questioned. Because as far as she knew, she was a pretty useless witch in her opinion.
"I found this." She brought out a glowing crystal and gave it to Lisa.
"With this, you can become the coven's leader and bring our people back together." She urged but Lisa noticed that the crystal wasn't shining again.
"I don't think this is for me." She stared at the crystal which was full and took celestial's hands, placing the crystal back which shone brightly on contact with her hand.
"No." She shook her head in disbelief.
"You are the new leader." Lisa proclaimed but Celestial still refused to believe it.
"There can't be a new leader until...until the old one dies." Her voice was cracking and realisation dawned on Lisa but she quickly shook it away. Her mother was strong. She couldn't be dead.
"Then you can make a new coven. Since there are dark witches, why don't you make light witches?." Lisa suggested.
"But we witches are sisters, we can't separate."
"You have to do it! Because if good is kept with bad then bad can corrupt good." She almost cried when saying this. Lucas had told her this. And now she was passing it on.
Celestial finally nodded"I Celestial, accept to be the queen of the light witches."
A bright light shined and Lisa was in awe at how Celestial transformed to look exactly like the Celestial she knew. Her silver hair was shinier and longer, her eyes looked more mature and her dress had changed to a long white flowing gown.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
"Wonderful performance." Lucas walked to stand in front of them, with Ezekiel following behind him.
"Lucas." Lisa smiled at him but he only stared back at her.
"You are the daughter of the witches leader." He took a step forward and she couldn't help but feel a sudden feeling of fear.
"Maybe we can get her out of her hiding place if I announce that I have her daughter captive." The more Lucas spoke, the more confused Lisa got.
"What?." She blinked back the tears that threatened to fall out of her eyes.
"Don't you dare come close to her!." Celestial stepped to Lisa's front and started mummuring a spell but she couldn't even end it as she fell on the floor on one kneel in pain.
"One finger is all I need to snap you in two little witch." His voice was vicious and Lisa couldn't believe what was happening.
"You can save her." His eyes met hers that trembled.
"Tell me why you came here and I'll let her go." He assured her calmly and Lisa's fist balled.
"I came here to steal a flower." She confessed, her voice hardening.
"Hmm? I never posed you to be a thief. The good times we had." He chuckled sadly.
"Let her join our team." Ezekiel finally spoke, referring to Celestial and only then did she lift her head to stare at him.
"And what good will that do us?." Lucas seemed to doubt the idea.
"Cast aside the enmity you have with her and accept the she is strong. Having her would make our odds better." He explained and Lucas's gaze left Lisa's before coming to Celestial.
"You have a choice. Either you join hands with us or you die on the spot."
"I will rather due than join hands with you disgusting crea-" She declined but Ezekiel was quick to shut her up.
"You are a queen now. Making selfish decisions would do nothing but bring harm to your people." He had said it codedly and Celestial could only hang her head in shame.
"I accept."
"Good, Ezekiel take her out I'll have a few words with Lilian before we leave."
He nodded and glanced at Celestial who stood up, gave Lisa a little nod and left with Ezekiel.
"What spell have you cast on me witch?." He said it with so much venom that she felt her heart squeeze.
"Spell?."
"No matter how much I try to hate you, I still end up doing the opposite! I want to end your life here but I still care for you! I want to see you cry but I don't want to see you cry!." He ran his hands through his hair and Lisa could only blink at his confession.
She had never seen him more confused.
"Why do I feel like that?." He whispered to her and she gazed into his eyes. She could see it.
He was in denial.
He didn't want to admit what he felt.
"I don't know." She whispered back and he walked to her, wrapping his arms around her.
"I'm doing this because it calms me down and nothing else." He warned and she nodded with a small smile.
"I know."
"I'm leaving. We are going to annihilate some kindoms." He informed her after pulling from the hug and she tilted her head.
"How long will it take?." She asked curiously and he frowned.
"I'm not sure but it might take months."
"Months!?" She shrieked.
"Yes. If we succeed, I'll be back and if we don't, you would ever see m-" He started but she used her palm to shut his mouth.
"Nothing will happen to you." She declared and he nodded, removing her hand and leaning in. Placing his lips on hers gently. The kiss wasn't ferocious but instead sweet, like a parting gift.
"I'll miss you." He whispered as he held her close. Lisa couldn't help the tears that flooded down her face.
She didn't know why she was crying.
"Are you doing this because it calms you down?." She added between her sobs.
"No Lilian, I'm doing this because of something else." He didn't say more but continued to hold her, his hand patting her head occasionally.
"I'll miss you too." She said sadly and they separated from the hug.
"I'll send you letters, don't leave the castle, don't accept any invitations just stay in your room okay?." He questioned and she nodded.
They stayed with each other for hours more and Lucas only left when she fell asleep.
As soon as he left, a woman with purple eyes and black hair walked casually into the room and stared at Lisa.
"It's time."
