"No."
If the attention wasn't on her before then this time all eyes turned to her. Even the maids stared at her in wonder.
"You'll pay for that." The demon appeared in front of her and Lisa stepped backwards in terror as she watched his fangs elongate.
"If you won't come willingly then I'll take it myself." His eyes became bright red and Lisa gulped as he instantly tried to pounce on her but stopped.
"Richard." A cold voice sliced through the tense air and everyone turned to Lucas who had finally spoken.
"You have violated one of the most important rules I had established when I gained power and you will be punished." Lucas stood up, pulling his sword out of its case as it glimmed at the point.
"Y-your Highness, I didn't hear of any rule like not being able to drink blood again." His confident character disappeared and was quickly replaced by a scared one as he stumbled backwards.
"Let me remind you then, a demon can not drink blood from a maid of the royal Castle without the permission to do so from that maid." After saying that, he stopped walking when he stood directly in front of Lisa who couldn't believe what what happening.
"Say hi to the devil for me."
It happened so fast, all anyone could see was how Richard's head slid of his neck and his body fell to the floor convulsing.
He turned to Lisa, he didn't say a word as he stared at her. Lisa felt pressured under his gaze. It was like he was accessing all her memories just through his eyes.
No wonder she never met the man named Richard.
He never lived long enough to meet her.
"You maids are dismissed." He spoke, his gaze not wavering off her and Lisa hearing his voice that close wanted to break down.
She missed him.
And seeing him this close but yet so far hurt her in a way she couldn't explain.
She pulled herself together and gave him a deep bow before turning around and walking out with the rest of the maids.
Lucas's eyes twinkled in curiousity as he watched the bold maid walk away.

Slap!
A harsh slap landed on Lisa's face and she winced as she felt the blood trickle down her lips.
Her face was probably swollen from the impact.
"You foolish peasant!." Another slap followed after and Lisa tried her best to hold in the tears that was trying to surface.
"Because of you, the prince had killed my brother!."
Lisa didn't know how things got to this. One minute she was walking to the maid quarters then the next minute, a group of elite women surrounded her and started attacking her from all sides.
And she feared that if she opened her mouth, she was going to get more slaps than she had already gotten.
"That's enough Brenda, let's leave this peasant here and not waste more of our precious time on a pest like her." One of the women said and the woman who was hitting Lisa straightened up and glared at her.
"You'll pay for this." She gritted her teeth and left with her squad, leaving Lisa who stared at their retreating silhouette in sadness.
Was this what Lilian suffered? The bullying from her home wasn't enough and now here at her work place?
Lisa left that place with her spirit down, her heart saddening at the thought that she saw no emotion in Lucas's eyes when he looked at her.
What did she expect? She was just some random maid doing her stupid job!.
She entered her room and shut the door, going to her bed and sitting down quietly. Her cheeks hurt from the pain and the metallic taste of blood that came from her lips stung her.
"Lady Lilian." A knock interrupted her thoughts and she stood up to open the door.
"Theodore?." She looked at Theodore who lifted a brow at her swollen cheek and she covered it up with a smile.
The smile hurt more than the slap.
"What happened to your face?." Asked Theodore.
"I got into a little ladies quarrel." She didn't reveal more and he only nodded.
"The prince requests of your presence." He relayed and Lisa's heart skipped several beats. Her voice seeming to have gotten stuck in her throat.
"W-why?." She stuttered, her anxiousness becoming very visual to Theodore who assured her immediately.
"He will not kill you if that is what you are thinking of but he has some things to talk to you about. Now let's go." He moved aside and Lisa walked out of the room following him.
While they walked, Lisa noticed the place they were going to was Lucas's actual room and that alone was able to send chilling dreads down her spine.
"We are here." He paused at the room and Lisa stopped behind him, her mind now creating different ways of how to escape any questions regarding her saying too much about herself.
"Good luck." He wished her and quickly left.
Lisa didn't know what to do as she stared at the door. She lifted her hand multiple times to knock but ended up dropping her hand beside her each time.
After making up her mind, she finally knocked and the door opened immediately.
"I was starting to wonder if you had never seen a door before." Was his first line and Lisa fought the urge to role her eyes.
Lucas hadn't changed at all.
He walked in and left the door open as she walked in before he closed the door behind her with a bang!.
"What is your name?." He asked as he walked to one of the couches in the room and made himself comfortable. He wore a white sleeved shirt with white loosed pants.
Lisa seemed slightly surprised with his choice of clothes. She had always ever seen him wear black.
"I won't believe you if you say you're mute because you definitely proved that you are not at the dining." He added.
"My name is Lillian and I have no reason to lie about being mute. I am an outspoken person." She lied.
"I noticed." He replied as his gaze scanned over her.
"What race are you?." He questioned, his eyes staring at her in curiousity.
"I am a demon." She lied again. It was quite odd to lie to him as if it had been before, he would have easily detected the lie.
I guess that's what they mean when they say you grow with experience.
"You don't seem like one." He said thoughtfully"I guess if you are a demon you'll have no problem in showing me your fangs now would you?."
