"You shut up!." The woman fumed and Lisa lifted her head, a frown forming on her face.
She really didn't understand this woman. If it's trouble she was looking for then it's trouble she'll find.
"Sorry but I own my mouth and I'll shut up when I feel like." She smirked at the woman and the woman blinked her eyes as if not hearing what Lisa just said.
"I understand now." The woman recovered from her shock and the expression she wore really confused Lisa.
"It must have been because you are serving the crown prince, that's why you are acting so proud." The woman spoke and Lisa lifted a brow.
"Sorry to burst your bubble but I do not care about your crown prince and will not care if I'm serving him or not." She folded her arms.
She wasn't sure if the crown prince was Lucas though there was a hundred percent chance it was him, he didn't like how everyone was just acting as if she was here to stalk him or something.
She was here for a similar reason but that was entirely different from what there were initiating here.
"If that is the case then I'll make sure you serve the crown prince today." The woman smiled in triumph and Lisa didn't know what to say.
Either way she was still okay because her goal was to steal the flower from him as well as staying far away from him.
She really prayed that she wouldn't fall in love with the past Lucas as she knew things wouldn't end well at all.
"Go and take the blood wine, you'll serve the prince yourself in his cup." The woman pointed at a large glass jug and Lisa's eyes widened.
She didn't want to see him.
She didn't want to go close to him.
She was scared. Anxious. Worried.
But nevertheless she took the wine, the jug feeling as heavy as it looked.
Emily took a plate of grapes and they both left the kitchen to the dining.
"Lilian you look pale, are you alright?." Emily asked her who looked like she could barely walk all of a sudden.
"I'm fine." Lisa breathed, her knees feeling wobbly.
It was only now that she realised that she didn't want to meet Lucas. How was she meant to act? How did Lilian act? What if she made a mistake and slipped off?.
They arrived at the doors to the dining and it opened as soon as they got there, showing Lisa the surroundings she was familiar with.
The dining was packed with different creatures, some which had horns and others which had wings. Some which wore scales and others which wore armour.
And right at the head of the table was the person Lisa had been preparing herself for.
It was him.
His short black hair was a little longer now, his ocean blue eyes looking as cold as ever, his bright pink lips were set in a frown as his pale skin went with his looks.
He looked as handsome as she remembered.
She walked towards the table as she gripped the jug more tightly, her heart hammering against her ribcage.
She stood beside all the maids that waited for the command to serve at the table as her eyes never left his perfectly calm face.
"A toast to our crown prince!." A man she hadn't met before shouted and the rest echoed as Lucas only stared at them.
On cue, the maids started serving the table and Lisa took a deep breath before going to Lucas and pouring in the blood wine as carefully as she could.
He didn't look at her once and she was thankful for that. It would have been a hassle to pour him the wine while he stared at her.
"Tell us your Highness, how did you get this position so easily?." The man that lead the toast asked Lucas curiously and the others turned to him with interest.
"That's for me to know and for you to never find out." His voice was cold. It was just as cold as she remembered it was the first time they met and she gripped the jug harder.
Why was the mouth of a large jug so small?.
She wanted this to end fast.
"That was a funny joke your Highness." The man laughed in embarrassment. It was quite obvious to know that he was ashamed by the way Lucas answered his question.
Finally, Lisa finished filling his jug and she quickly went back to stand with the rest maids.
"I feel so scared." Emily whispered to her and she turned to Emily.
"For what?." Was it because of the crowd? She didn't get this girl.
"It is soon going be time for the feeding." Emily shuddered and Lisa became confused by this information and Emily sensing she was confused tried to explain to her but it was already time.
"It's time for the feeding! Ladies and gentlemen, choose any maid of your choice as you feast on their blood." A man which she identified as a demon announced and Lisa blinked at this announcement in horror.
They wouldn't right?.
Different people at the table started calling on different maids and she watched as they brutally bit into their necks one by one. Her stomach twisted as she imagined herself being in any of their position.
She could let Lucas bite her but that was it.
No one else could and will bite her.
She turned to Lucas, hoping that he would stop this but he was so seriously sipping his wine!.
"You there. The brown haired maid, come here." The same demon that had shared the toast called her and she made no effort to move from her position and only stared at him with a dumb expression.
"Can't you hear me!?." He sounded slightly annoyed but Lisa didn't move.
"Sorry sir but it wasn't in my job preview to be a blood bag to anyone." She finally spoke and the dining hall instantly became quiet.
"What are you saying you stupid maid? I said come here this instant!." The demon stood up but Lisa only replied with one simple word.
"No."
