"I think you're my mate." He confessed and at first Lisa looked at him with a stern gaze but that was only for a second before her expression quickly shifted to one of amusement and a beautiful laughter filled the empty hallway.
"Sorry, sorry sorry" She wiped a tear drop off her eye" It's just that, I doubt that is even possible." Her words were like a dagger to his heart.
"Why would you say that?" He seemed slightly confused at her reaction.
"It's because it feels odd. We just met and in less than one minute you are already proclaiming that I'm your mate." She stated the obvious reasons but his expression still remained the same.
"Then give me a chance. A chance to win your heart at least." He pleaded but Lisa didn't like that idea one bit.
Why was fate playing this game with her? She and Lucas had finally confessed their feelings for each other and suddenly her old high school crush appears and is claiming that she is his mate? What would she do now?
"I don't know about this Zain." She stalled. She couldn't tell him about lucas. Or else sooner or later the guardian council will find out about it.
"Is it because of Lucas?." He threw this sudden question at her and she froze.
"Surprised how I know?" He asked and she remained silent.
How did he?.
"It's his scent, it's imprinted all over you, and also.." His eyes trailed down her face and landed on her exposed neck where a bite mark was and Lisa seeing this quickly use her hair to hide her neck while her face turned to a bright shade red.
Summoning up the courage, she spoke"Now that you know where my heart resides in, are you still willing to try and win my heart?"
"Lisa, that alone does not bother me because.. forgive me if this is offensive but I know that the relationship between you and Lucas would never last. I would have warned you to stay away from him but I don't think you will listen. He is more dangerous than you think." His long speech didn't faze Lisa but this gnawing feeling of not knowing what might happen next was getting to her.
With that been said, he picked up her slender fingers and placed a light kiss on it. Surprisingly, Lisa didn't feel disgusted.
"Until next time my future queen." He gave her a small bow and spun on his heels, leaving Lisa to stare at his retreating silhouette.
Future queen? She didn't think that was going to happen in a thousand years to come.
Lisa not having anything else to do, walked to the dining, half expecting to find Lucas there but when she arrived, the dining was completely empty except for herself and the cutleries.
She dejectedly walked over to the dining table and took a seat as her appetite seemed to have dimmed. The food was already served out and Lisa was about to take a bite but a cold breeze brushed passed her ears and she shivered.
"lisa"
A quiet voice called out and Lisa paused, she couldn't quite understand what was going on right now.
"Who is there?." She asked no one in particular and only her voice echoed back to her.
She stayed quiet again and waited for whoever was trying to play a game with her which she didn't find funny.
"Go to the room Lisa" The tiny voice spoke again and she became even more confused.
Was she loosing her mind?
"Which room?." She wanted to smack herself for even acknowleding whatever stunt her mind was playing with her but she still asked.
"The forbidden library."
It answered and Lisa almost rolled her eyes. Last time she went to a place that had a weird name was not an experience she was going to forget.
"Sorry but I'm not the one for the job, I don't want anything to do with Unknown places. And even if I did want to help you, I have no idea where this room you speak about is."
"The forbidden library is in the castle. Just after Lucas's room"
Lisa sighed heavily, she couldn't believe she was about to do this. Despite the fact that she didn't want anything to do with Unknown places, she was very curious about this library and also about this voice.
"Okay, I'll help you but on one condition, just who the hell are you?." Lisa wanted to know if she was just crazy or this voice had a logical explanation.
"But I am you."
'Wow, what a wonderful explanation. Everything seems more clear now.' Lisa thought sarcastically.
Standing up, Lisa glanced at her untouched food for a second more before walking out of the room and following what the voice directed her to do.
"Take a left here"
Lisa was sure that they had been walking for hours yet, she hadn't seen the so called forbidden library.
"We are here."
They halted at a flat wall and Lisa blinked her eyes in astonishment.
This couldn't just be all a waste, right?
Instinctively, she placed her hand on the wall and at first a clink sound was made, before a large door opened, revealing a set of stairs that led down.
Lisa didn't move immediately, fear rooted her in her spot as she stared at the dark creepy stairs.
Just what kind of castle does Lucas have?.
Nevertheless, she entered the door and carefully walked down the stairs as dust evaded her senses, making her sneeze.
She continued walking further down and finally reached the last step. The surrounding environment was surprisingly neat like someone had been taking care of it for a while now.
"The forbidden library draws close."
Lisa paused, constantly checking her surroundings for any type of danger lurking close. From afar, she sighted a golden door and drawn to it, she ran, immediately arriving at the door whose surface shone brightly.
Unfortunately, as soon as she got close to the door, dark shadows swooped beneath her feet, making her scurry backwards as two shadows took a humanoid form, bringing out a sword and pointing it to Lisa.
"State your reason for being here or be killed immediately."
Lisa frowned, couldn't death just leave her alone!?.
