Chapter 2 - In the Lion City

Maeve's flight landed at Changi Airport, and as she stepped off the plane, a mix of excitement and nervousness coursed through her veins. She looked around, taking in the bustling atmosphere of the airport. And the diverse faces and languages that surrounded her.

Her eyes scanned the crowd until they settled on a man holding a sign with her name. It was Lawrence Wong, her employer. Maeve felt a pang of anticipation as she approached him, noting his distinguished appearance despite his age.

Lawrence Wong was an elegant gentleman with greying hair and a kind smile. He exuded an air of sophistication and authority that instantly commanded respect. Maeve couldn't help but be impressed by his demeanour.

"Mr. Wong, I presume?" Maeve greeted him, extending her hand.

Lawrence Wong nodded and shook her hand warmly. "Yes, I am Lawrence Wong. It's a pleasure to meet you, Maeve," he replied, his voice carrying a hint of a British accent.

Maeve noticed the kindness in his eyes. and felt a wave of reassurance wash over her. "Likewise, Mr Wong. Thank you for giving me this opportunity," she said, her voice filled with gratitude.

They engaged in light conversation as they walked. Lawrence Wong asked about her journey and how she was adjusting to working in Singapore. Maeve shared her excitement and mentioned her aspirations of becoming a teacher someday.

Lawrence Wong listened attentively. His genuine interest was evident in his responses. Maeve found herself opening up to him, feeling a sense of comfort in his presence. It was a promising start to their working relationship.

As they reached the car, Lawrence held the door open for Maeve, a small gesture that spoke volumes about his manners and respect. Maeve settled into the comfortable seat. She was curious about the new chapter unfolding before her.

During the drive home, Lawrence Wong pointed out notable landmarks. He shared anecdotes about Singapore's rich culture and history. Maeve absorbed every word, eager to immerse herself in this vibrant city.

A warm and inviting atmosphere welcomed Maeve when she arrived at Mr Wong's home. The house was spacious and elegantly furnished, reflecting Lawrence Wong's refined taste. Maeve felt a sense of privilege to be a part of such an environment.

"Make yourself at home, Maeve," Lawrence Wong said, his voice filled with sincerity. "You are now part of our household. And we value your presence and contributions."

Maeve nodded appreciatively, a smile gracing her lips. "Thank you, Mr. Wong. I will do my best to fulfil my responsibilities and make a positive impact."

As Maeve settled into her new room, she couldn't help but feel a mixture of gratitude and anticipation for the experiences that lay ahead. She unpacked her belongings, her thoughts occasionally drifting to the intimate moments she shared with Gaston.

While Maeve cherished those memories, she understood they belonged to a different time and place. She is embarking on a new journey towards growth, discovery, and personal development.

With renewed determination and a sense of purpose, Maeve took a deep breath, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that awaited her as she embarked on her maiden journey in Singapore.

At dinner time, Maeve joined the family. Mrs Wong explained to her her duties. She will clean the house, wash the dishes and laundry, and go to the supermarket. She met all the members of the Wong Family, including Eric, the only son of Mr and Mrs Wong, a freshman in college.

As Maeve settled into her seat at the dinner table, she couldn't help but notice a young man sitting across from her. It was Eric, the Wong family's only son and a college freshman. Maeve found him undeniably cute, with his tousled hair and warm smile.

Throughout the meal, Maeve noticed how Eric would discreetly steal glances in her direction when he thought no one was watching. There was a spark in his eyes whenever their gazes met, leaving Maeve both intrigued and flattered.

As the conversation flowed around the table, Maeve joined in, sharing stories of her hometown and her dreams for the future. Eric listened intently, offering occasional comments or nods of agreement. His presence brought a youthful energy to the atmosphere, and Maeve enjoyed his company.

During one exchange, Maeve caught Eric's eye. And they shared a brief moment of shared laughter. It was a connection, however fleeting, that hinted at a potential friendship or something more.

As the dinner progressed, Maeve observed how Eric interacted with his family. He showed genuine care and affection towards his parents, displaying a sense of maturity beyond his years. Maeve admired his dedication to his studies and his commitment to his family.

At that moment, Maeve felt a twinge of curiosity. She wondered what it would be like to get to know Eric better and discover the depths of his personality beyond these stolen glances and fleeting smiles.

The evening concluded with warmth and laughter, and Maeve felt grateful for the opportunity to join the Wong family. As she bid everyone goodnight, Maeve couldn't help but feel a tinge of excitement about what the future might hold, not only in terms of her work but also in potential connections she might forge with those around her.

Little did she know that this seemingly innocent encounter with Eric would usher in a new chapter in her life. It would take her on a journey that would bring challenges and unexpected moments of joy.

Maeve had trouble sleeping that night with so many things swirling in her mind. She decided to take a shower. Walking out of the bedroom, she went to the end of the hall to the bathroom. But she nearly screamed in surprise to find Eric peeing.

Maeve froze in shock, unsure of what to do. She couldn't help but glance down at Eric's penis, which was still in his hand. He quickly turned around, trying to cover himself up, his face beet red.

"I'm sorry!" Maeve blurted out, feeling embarrassed and mortified.

Eric quickly pulled up his pants and muttered an apology, clearly just as flustered as Maeve was. The two stood there, unsure of what to say or do next.

Then, a small giggle escaped Maeve's lips, breaking the tension. Eric joined in, and soon they laughed uncontrollably. The absurdity of the situation finally sank in.

"Sorry, sorry," Maeve managed to gasp between laughs. "I didn't mean to see that."

"It's okay," Eric chuckled. "I should have locked the door."

When the awkwardness of the moment passed, they went their separate ways. Eric went back to bed while Maeve turned on the shower, still feeling a little flustered. As she washed off the day's sweat and grime, she couldn't help but think about Eric and his unexpected appearance. Despite the awkwardness, Maeve found herself feeling a little intrigued by him. And she couldn't help but think of Gaston's penis, remembering their encounter before leaving the Philippines. Turning the shower on, she tried to flush the heat inside her body.
