Chapter 1 - Incantato

She was truly a piece of art.The only thing which captured my eyes in the huge and magnificent Louvre museum.Blue eyes like the deep blue sea which drowns me,skin as white as milk, golden hair which looked more worth than actual gold,a dress carefully tailored for her petite little body, shoes which were shiny as a glass ready to tear my her apart,She appeared almost mystical.

"ti sei perso? stai cercando la via d'uscita?"

She asked,I understood Italian but unfortunately couldn't speak in Italian.I did not respond,I was still mesmerized by her soul soothing voice which took away all the discomforts of life and felt like a sweet, soft lullaby.

I slowly responded in English "You've misunderstood me, I'm not lost".I then proceeded to make contact with her after wandering around the museum aimlessly, just like a child.

An angel chorus singing "benedizioni dall'alto" was being sung at the back of my head.I was lucky enough to find her again at the exit.

As I was nearing her, I could see security guards carrying her to the maintenance room, out of panic I ran to her and she was sitting on the floor expressionless maybe even traumatized.I reached my arm out to her and made her stand up."Is everything okay?" I asked her while still breathing heavily.

"È sempre così, non devi preoccuparti"She replies in her ringing voice.I proceeded to ask her for coffee for which she had gladly agreed. We took the most expensive taxi waiting outside. As soon as we got in,we could feel the discomfort of the smell of a cigar, certainly it must've been the previous passenger who smoked a cigar.I found an unusual ashtray on my seat but ignored and kept it away.

"Loneliness has really gotten into you, isn't it?"asked the taxi driver which made me rethink my past.He was a short and bulky man with an English countryside accent and a mini-gramophone near the steering wheel. The gramophone reminded of the times when me and my grandparents used to live in Southampton. My parents died when I was still a toddler,so it was natural for my grandparents to take me in.The car stops at a jammed road where a car crash just took place,as the driver turned up the sound of the radio,I heard this:-

"Aux dernières nouvelles, le célèbre tableau "Madame" de Stuart Buckle a été volé au musée du Louvre ce matin."

I did go to French classes and i could interpret it easily.Surprisingly Stuart buckle is also the name of my ancestor, but he was not an artist,he was a farmer.

The road gets cleared and we continue to proceed, the driver asks "This artist put a lot of effort to draw this painting." It was astonishing as he sounded as if he saw the painting being drawn.I myself haven't seen the painting although I was in the museum.I'm sure it was stolen before i could enter it.
