After waking up from his slumber, Lian Chen realized that his cultivation increased from the Body Refinement Middle Stage to Qi Cultivation Low Stage.
"It seems that all of the hardships that I have endured weren't for nothing." Lian Chen stood up from his bed, and got ready for the last day of the annual recruitment event.
During the event, Lian Chen was occupied with the recruitment of new disciples, and he even noticed the arrival of the plump lady who had come to register the day before.
Following the conclusion of the event, Lian Chen made up his mind to visit the treasury and collect his monthly pills.
Additionally, he saw this as an opportunity to explore the treasury and acquire new skills. Lian Chen had been previously restricted from entering the treasury as it was reserved for individuals who had reached the Qi Cultivation Stage.
Upon reaching the treasury, Lian Chen headed to the store to get his pills for cultivation. The old man that was in-charge of giving out the pills was an elder called Elder Hu. He despised Lian Chen ever since he was in the Buddha Benevolent Sect due to his cultivation being stuck at the Body Refinement stage.
"Hey there Elder Hu, I am here to collect my pills again."
"Take this." Elder Hu casually threw a bottle containing a single pill to Lian Chen.
"Wait... Isn't it customary for all outer court disciples to be given 2 Elementary Qi Nourishing Pills instead of just 1?"
"Whether you have 2 pills or just 1 doesn't matter. After all, you've been stuck at the Body Refinement stage for nearly four years," mocked Elder Hu.
"Just you wait… I will definitely complain to the Disciplinary Hall for them to take action."
"Yeah, yeah, do you really think they would care about a mere cultivator at the Body Refinement stage like you? Keep dreaming, kid," sneered Elder Hu.
Leaving the scene, Lian Chen made his way towards the nearby Treasury Hall, eager to acquire some martial skills for himself. The guardian of the Treasury Hall was a mysterious figure named Xu Tianyi, whose origins remained shrouded in secrecy. Rumor had it that he spent most of his days in slumber, adding to his enigmatic aura.
"Good evening Elder Xu, I am here to learn some martial skills for myself." Said Lian Chen.
"Proceed straight ahead, young lad. But remember, you are not to be spending more than 3 hours inside and not take any martial skills out of this Treasury Hall."
Lian Chen nodded and made his way inside the Treasury Hall.
Witnessing Lian Chen's entry into the Treasury Hall, Elder Hu was astounded, for it was known that only cultivators who had reached the Qi Cultivation stage were granted access to such a place.
Elder Hu went up to Elder Xu and questioned "Hey, why did you let this imbecile in? Don't you know that only cultivators that have been to the Qi Cultivation stage are only allowed to enter?!"
"Do you dare to challenge my authority, Elder Xu? I permitted Lian Chen's entry because he has indeed reached the Qi Cultivation Low Stage. Otherwise, why would I grant him access? Now that you understand, leave my presence immediately!" Elder Xu shouted in response.
Upon hearing Elder Xu's stern words, Elder Hu hastily retreated, his confidence dwindling in the face of Elder Xu's authority.
