"Satomi, what do you want me to explain?"
"First of all, can you explain the special rules? And is it related to the point?"
It looks like Rose has started to trust me.
To me this was a very good thing.
I can gather a lot of information from her about the special rules or anything else.
The special rules have become information now.
If Rose's words are true, then that means there are many things in this school that fall under the information section.
For now I don't intend to find out more.
I just focused on what I wanted to know right now.
"Yes, that special rule is the point itself."
"Then?"
"Umm."
Rose really wanted to explain, but for a moment she looked like she was hesitating and felt afraid to speak.
"If you feel scared, you can speak softly or whisper. Don't worry, my hearing works very well!"
"Alright."
She started talking again, and she chose to whisper to feel safer.
"Please continue."
"Next week, all your belongings will be returned to your residence. If you don't have a place to live, then the school will keep them until you graduate. That's the special rule."
"Oh, is that so? Then what does that have to do with the point?"
Well, I didn't care if such a special rule was implemented, because I didn't have any important items myself.
Even my room felt so empty, there were probably only eating utensils like glasses, plates, spoons, forks, and chopsticks, and bathroom supplies like soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and towels.
"I'm not done yet, Satomi. They also returned everyday items such as for eating and bathing, and even money was included."
I knew it.
"Let me guess, are we going to live on points?"
"Uh, how do you know?!"
Rose was surprised by my guess.
All of Rose's explanations would make sense if it was like that.
All of our belongings would be returned, including daily living supplies and even money.
Well, I still don't care about that particular rule, since my father didn't give me a penny when I entered here.
Then we will live and depend on the system called "Point."
"There's no special reason, I just guessed it based on your explanation earlier. Please continue!"
"You're great for understanding it so quickly, but are you seriously from class 1-E?"
Really, what's wrong with class 1-E?
It seemed like class 1-E had suffered from severe discrimination.
"Just continue your explanation, I don't know why I'm there either."
That's a lie, anyway.
The reason I was able to get into Class E was because I held back.
I deliberately blamed a few questions on the entrance test and made it into an average.
Since Class E is a collection of students who got the average score from the entrance test, I was placed there.
"Alright, I'll continue. For this first week, before three o'clock in the afternoon, you will not study and are free to be anywhere except in the dorm room, you are also free to do anything as long as you still obey the school rules. But come next week, you will be surprised that all your belongings will be returned, and you will live by the point system."
"It's like being made happy and relaxed first, and then being confronted with tough situations and circumstances."
"Yes, you're right. I, who didn't realize it at the time, felt very depressed. Even so, there were some people who weren't distressed at all, as if they had expected it."
"Did any of your classmates notice?"
"No... everyone in class 1-E, they are all depressed. But among the many people who are depressed, there are also most students from class 1-A and 1-B who seem very calm."
Well, of course classes A and B noticed it.
They were also the students with the highest scores in the entrance test, so they must have expected it and made some preparations.
"Alright, I understand now. One last question, how will the point system work?"
I thought I was quite satisfied with the information provided by Rose, so I only asked one more question and left afterwards.
"That very morning you will be given a cell phone."
"Cell phone?"
"It's not a cell phone as you might imagine. The features are very limited, and also you can buy anything using the cell phone as long as you have points."
"Is buying something like scanning a barcode?"
"Yes, it's like that."
"Oh, you must have a cell phone, right? Can I see it?"
"That's impossible, forcing to show the contents of the cell phone would be an invasion of privacy."
"Sorry, Rose!"
Because what Rose said was true, so I apologized to her.
"Besides, you can check it yourself next Sunday, such as features, point system, barcode scan, or other things."
"Yes, I think that's enough. Thank you, Rose! You helped me a lot."
Feeling that I had enough of Rose's explanation, I thanked her and intended to help her after this.
Being free for a week would greatly benefit me in finding out the culprit who had been stalking Rose.
I was sure that within three days, the culprit would be found out.
"Please help me find out who the culprit is! They say you can do it in three days, I think you're pretty good too, so I'm counting on you."
"Yes, leave it to me! Then, I'll leave first, Rose! Once again, thank you!"
"Alright, I'll leave it to you! Oh yeah, one more thing, Satomi. Please don't play around with information!"
"Yes, I understand that very well."
The conversation was over, so I got up from the park bench and left Rose alone.
At least I could feel at ease now.
Maybe right now Rose still felt afraid of being stalked, but I didn't care about that.
What I care about now is finding out about the person stalking Rose, not about her feelings of fear.
I did that because I had no other choice, so as a man I have to keep my own words.
A man who can't keep his own word, I call him trash.
Women's sweet promises do sound tempting, but some people must be a little hesitant about it.
It's different from a man's sweet promise, maybe some people will believe it because the one who speaks is a man.
If there's a man who's been given such trust and yet denies it, then he's really trash.
"Kringg!!! It's lunch time!"
I heard the sound of the bell again, I also saw the display screen that reminded the students that it was time for lunch.
I thought my journey to the dining hall would be a little hindered because I almost forgot the way to the first class.
I was just trying to remember some small markers like rocks, tree branches, and leaves.
Fortunately a few minutes later, by utilizing those small markers, I made it to the first class without any obstacles.
I went to the dining room and went straight into it and sat on seat number 84.
The small paper containing this number turned out to be my place and turn to eat today.
When tomorrow comes, I will be given another small paper and I was also told to return yesterday's small paper.
At least that's what I thought about this small piece of paper in the dining hall.
I spent the rest of today's school day in solitude before the clock finally struck three in the afternoon.
I went back to class for a while and picked up the piece of paper that had to be put up in my room later, then I went back to my dorm room while carrying the piece of paper.
Once there, I immediately put it up on the wall near my bed.
The sheet of paper was easy to install because I only needed to pull out the sticker glue on the back of the paper and install it.
The paper is now on the wall of my dorm room.
I hope I put it up correctly.
Ah, I feel quite tired today.
I'd better rest for now, because tomorrow I have to do something for Rose.
