"First, let's confirm if you really are. I want you to wait here for me, while I go get what you need." Draven let go of her hand to leave, but Avelina stopped him, shaking her head.
"Let me come with you, Draven," Avelina implored.
Draven shook his head at her. "No, sunshine, I need you to stay back here and wait for me, okay?" He peppered soft kisses on her head and left the room.
Avelina could only watch as he shut the door. She dropped, sitting down on the bed. Her hand instinctively reached to touch her belly and a shaky breath fled her nose.
Now, it was all starting to make sense. The unnecessary emotional changes and the urge to vomit even at the smell of food she likes.
Avelina got up from the bed and walked to the tall mirror. She unzipped her dress, letting it fall to examine her body. She'd been adding weight, but never really thought much of it. Never in her wildest dreams did she think it could possibly be due to pregnancy.
