Feeling suspicious about the whole deal, Xander retracted his hand and pulled away from the little girl hanging from the tree.
She looked at him in confusion, her head twisting from side to side as she tried to understand what had gone wrong.
"You no want wish?" the girl enquired.
"I do want it. But first, I wanna know what happens afterward," Xander replied. "What exactly did you mean by disappear?"
Hearing this, the girl pointed at something behind Xander and said, "No stay here. Go disappear in ring."
Xander thought about it for a while and then asked, "You mean...a portal?"
The girl nodded eagerly. "Yes. Port...portal. You come from ring. You go back to ring. No stay here."
"How do these portals work? Did you create the portal which brought me to this tree?" Xander asked.
The girl shook her head. "Only des...desperate wish make port...portal. We only give fruit."
