By now, Xander had grown quite used to talking with vengeful deities. He had already met Mordred inside the Garden of Death and completed Neriti's trial in a dream. However, he wasn't expecting to encounter another divine being on his way to Florentia, especially one which dwelt in Lake Tamaki.
"I guess the deities just can't get enough of me," Xander sniggered as he pondered the farmer's words of caution. He wondered what kind of deity would have the time to protect such an insignificant hamlet in the middle of nowhere.
Though the farmers didn't look like dishonest people, Xander took their tales with a grain of salt. After all, the villagers were known to be superstitious, and with everything going on over the past few days, it was highly likely for these simple-minded folk to seek comfort in their beliefs.
"I think I would like to speak to your Goddess. Perhaps, she might take a liking to me," Xander said after considering all possibilities.
