A train ride from Faros to Florentia was a great way to explore the rustic scenery and get a chance to see wild beasts and birds in their natural habitats. If lucky, one could even catch a glimpse of a pack of gray direwolves amidst the trees.
Witnessing a Volador crossing, however, was something completely unexpected.
These winged equines weren't exotic beasts dwelling in Somnium's untamed wilderness. They were Ethereals who wandered the meadows of the veiled realm.
"What the hell are these things doing here?" Xander asked, regarding the Volador herd with increasing curiosity.
"I guess they came in through portals," Leena replied, moving closer to the window to get a better view. "They are pure Ethereals from the Dreamscape. The sun doesn't hurt them. They can roam freely in our world."
"It still doesn't mean they should be here. They do not belong in our world," Xander replied.
"Wow! These horsies are so pretty!"
