Even before entering the Soulscape, Xander knew that the Blind Deity would not take too kindly to his advances when she discovered his true intentions. He was expecting to incur her wrath at some point, and this curse re-affirmed his fears.
"What seems to be wrong?" Marvin asked.
"The Blind Deity has cursed me. I'm going to lose my sight soon," he muttered back without looking away from his skill tree. "But before that happens, I want to be prepared for what comes next."
"I should have seen this coming. The Blind Deity is trying to test your resolve," Marvin replied. "Her trials have already begun, Warden. You need to be careful. She will never let a departed soul leave the Soulscape unless she is absolutely convinced that it is necessary for the greater good."
"We will see about that," Xander mumbled back, before expanding his skill tree to view all his unlocked skills.
