Dante's mistake of trying to trick the Pippin had cost him dearly. He was now paralyzed, and the Pippin sounded pissed.
All this time, Master Arwin had been watching the proceedings from a distance, but he suddenly felt a cold breeze on his shoulder and turned around to find the Pippin standing right behind him.
"I did not invite you to play with me. I don't like oldies!" the Pippin hissed. "You must be spying on us, bad man!" It snapped its fingers and summoned a clump of thorny vines to trap him.
"Wait! I was not spying. I just wanted to see—"
Master Arwin's explanation was cut short by the vines wrapping around his legs and waist and coiling all the way up to his head to block his mouth.
"Hmff!"
Master Arwin tried to wriggle free, but the vines held him tightly in their painful embrace, their thorns digging into his clothes and puncturing his skin.
