Hunting a Devourer inside its own lair would have been a nearly impossible challenge for a lone Dreamwalker. But fortunately, Xander had Leena's support and Master Arwin's experience on his side. And even though the last person in their group wasn't a Dreamwalker, Abigail knew how to handle himself in a fight.
Xander was the first to enter the cave. And as soon as he stepped into the darkness, something crunched his boots. Luckily, he was carrying a flashlight this time.
As Xander clicked the light on, he discovered he had stepped over a pile of bones. He tried to walk away, but it felt like his right foot was being held in place by invisible shackles. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't lift his leg.
"What's wrong?" Abigail asked, shining his flashlight on Xander.
"I can't move. I'm stuck!"
