The existence of demonic Ethereals inside a simple training dream was highly unlikely since such entities preferred the shadowy terrains of the Nightscape. And even inside nightmares, demonic encounters were extremely rare.
Most demonic entities inhabited the infernal planes located in the bowels of the Nightscape since such places were twisted with dark magic and miles away from any shrines and temples. However, on rare occasions, some low-ranking demons were observed to be prowling the shadowy regions in the upper plains.
While Xander could not entirely dismiss the shepherd's story as a tall tale woven out of his imagination, he doubted he would find himself facing a demon inside a True Dream. But still, he had run into enough problematic anomalies during his previous training sessions to know that it was a good idea to keep his wits about him and take things seriously.
