The Oracles stepped aside, allowing Leena to walk past them and make her way to the altar at the other end. Despite her outer display of confidence, her heart raced inside her chest as her drooping shoulders struggled to bear the burden of the enormous responsibility.
Hearing the truth about the Godless Ones had shattered all her illusions and made her realize how twisted the world was. Since another Dreamwalker was responsible for the child's cruel fate, she believed it was her duty to balance things out by righting his grave wrongs.
"You don't need to do this if you aren't sure. This could be dangerous," Xander cautioned from behind, but Leena had already made up her mind.
"You're wrong, Xander. I definitely need to do this. The boy's life was ruined by a Dreamwalker, so it's only fair that I wipe this stain with my own hands," Leena replied without turning back. "Meeting this child wasn't a coincidence. Destiny brought us to Olarva. And now I need to do my part."
