"What did Mark Paulo tell you?" Marcella asked.
He must have said something that made Tony leave in a hurry.
Tony shrugged. "That I can watch it all end."
Marcella realized that it was all Mark's plan to end Paul that day. "How did he end up becoming the prey?" she asked.
"There's a Chinese proverb: The mantis stalks the cicada unaware of the oriole behind," Tony said.
Marcella nodded. Even after planning for a long time, Mark was bettered.
"Mark might be smart but he was not Don. Don would have planned—or if you were aware, you would have made a better plan," Tony said.
Marcella chuckled. "You always think a bit too much of me. I am not very smart, Tony."
Only after saying that did, she realize that Tony didn't like it when she said that. She quickly leaned and kissed the frown off his face. Tony smiled. She might not say the right thing always, but she knew how to handle Tony.
