It was dark inside. Along with the window tint, Marcella could see that it was sound-proofed. The moment the van started moving, her hands were cuffed behind her back and so was Tony's.
Her heart was racing but she was not scared. Tony was with her.
"Are you fine, baby?" Tony asked.
"I'm okay," Marcella answered. He didn't sound distressed and that gave her enormous courage.
She took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "So, who wants us?" she asked.
The men didn't answer her. She looked at Tony.
"Same old Mclaughlin," Tony chuckled. "A thug's a thug…"
"Hey, shut up!" The man riding a shotgun pointed a loaded gun at Tony's face.
"Or what?" Tony leaned forward and scoffed. "You'll treat us with the respect of a guest? As if you know how! Thugs!"
The other guy's hand holding the gun shook as he deliberated whether to pull the trigger or not. In the end, he retracted his hand.
