Zions' P.O.V.
We walked around the training grounds as I explained the different areas and what we use them for. We then make our way out of the training ground and find ourselves at the entrance of the main garden with its beautiful flower-filled archway. I look down to see Rain captivated by the roses and smiling. I linked Orian, telling him to say Odett was awake and that he and Jessica would check on her so Rain and I could have some alone time.
"I thought that was what ya'll had in your office?" He linked me back with a sarcastic tone, making me roll my eyes at him.
"We got interrupted... Remember?" I linked him back, and he laughed.
"The nanny linked me to let me know Odett was awake. Jess and I will check on her for you, my Queen.." Orian says, and I nod.
"Oh, okay. And Orian." She calls out to him, and he turns to face her. "It's just Rain."
"Yes, ma'am." He says with a cocky smile as he takes Jessicas' hand, and they walk back to the castle.
With us finally alone again, I grab Rain by her hand and lead her into the garden. All the different scents of the flowers mix together, making her smile as she stops to smell each one. Out of every scent in the world, I would rather have her scent for the rest of my life.
"Have you ever shifted to your wolf?" I asked her out of curiosity, and I could tell she was asking her wolf.
"Once, but I don't remember it." She says, and I nod, knowing exactly when it happened.
"Does Dosha think she could shift now?" I ask and wait for her response.
"She thinks she can. And she said she would like to meet your wolf." She answers, and I can feel Ryker pep up automatically.
"He would like that too," I say with a smile. "Maybe tonight we can go for a run together."
"That sounds great." She says with a smile on her face and eyes so bright.
We keep walking threw the garden till we get to the big fountain in the middle with a bench across from it. I sit, pulling her into my lap. She wraps her arms around my neck. I put my face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent. I doubt I'll ever get enough of her.
"Could you train me?" She asks, and my head jerks up.
'Why on earth would she want to train? She doesn't need to worry about protection." Ryker says.
"What?" I ask her. Thinking I heard wrong.
"Could you train me?" She asks again.
"Why would you want to be trained? We have guards and warriours for that." I say, Not wanting to upset her but also not wanting to put her in a fight where she could end up hurt or worse.
"When the Moon Goddess came to me in my dream, she said something was coming. Something that I needed to be prepared for. How can I be prepared for anything if I can't train? She says.
"My Queen, we have people that will fight for you," I say.
"So you wouldn't be on the front lines with your people?" She asks, looking me in the eyes.
"Of course, I will be. They are our people. It is my job as King to make sure they are safe."
"And I want to be right by your side, with our people. As their Queen, it is my job to make sure they are safe as well. And I won't accept everyone around me fighting while I do nothing." She says with determination. "I need to know how to defend myself and others."
"Well, you did take down seven rogues by yourself, but I understand where you are coming from. How about this, you complete your magic training, and I will start training you." I say, and she smiles at me, and her emerald green eyes seem to glow.
"Thank you, my Ki... Zion!" She says, and I laugh, putting my head back in the crook of her neck.
We sat like that for a few more minutes before Sam linked me to let me know that I was needed in my office urgently. I picked Rain up with me as I stood and gently put her on her feet, only letting go when I knew she wouldn't fall over. I could feel something was wrong, and I tried hard not to let my growing worry show in front of my mate.
"What's wrong?" She asks.
"I'm needed at my office for an urgent matter. I'll walk you to your..." I tried to say before she cut me off.
"No. I'm coming with you!" She demanded. "As the Queen, I should be there by your side."
"Okay," I say, slightly stunned.
"Wow, that was easier than I was expecting." She says as she leads us out of the garden and towards the castle.
"What exactly were you expecting?" I ask, and she shrugs her shoulders.
"I was expecting to have to argue my point or something." She says, and I laugh.
"I did tell you that you would have whatever you wanted, did I not?" I ask her as we make our way inside the castle.
"That's true." She says with the cutest giggle ever.
"Plus, I'm starting to realize how stubborn you are. If I would have said no, you probably would have followed, and Alpha ordered the guards to let you in any way." I say, knowing it's the truth.
"Oh yea, I forgot I could do that." She says. And I can't help but laugh at her cuteness.
When we get to my office, Sam Orian and James are already there with a map, unrolled on my desk. I hear Rain asks Orian where Jess and Odett are, and he tells her they are in his suite with two guards. Hearing he had two guards posted at his suite, I knew it had to be something bad.
