The demonic creature had become trapped in its own dimension where it was supposedly impervious to damage, though it soon realized that didn't apply to the artifact jabbed in its leg. The pain caused by the small object lunged within its flesh was easy to shrug off at first, but the crimson dagger's ability soon showed its ugly side by draining the creature's flux energy and life essence.
Without anyone triggering its ability, the demon was left with two choices. It could either materialize completely and be obliterated by Uriel who had now become stronger or to not materialize at all slowly fading into nothingness. When Uriel reached the limit of how much flux energy his body could hold, a third option became available and the demon didn't hesitate to use it.
"I will not forget this!" The cryptid bellowed as it scurried away taking the chance that Uriel was too focused on venting as much flux as he could to preserve his life.
