Chapter 11 - Selected?

"Now, we will announce the names that have been submitted by the scouts who have been watching this game!" The coaches voice cast a heavy pressure over the players.

Each and every one of them felt their hearts squeeze, and it was like it had imploded. Isaac simply did his best to calm himself down, and focused on the coach speaking.

" Sfiso Hlanti. Maxwell Zungu..."

Isaac waited for his name...

"Theo Cele, Asanda Ndlovu..."

Still, he could not hear it.

"Kyle Peterson. Bretlee moonsamy."

Could it be he wasn't selected? Even after all he had done. Was it because he hadn't progressed the ball enough? Maybe it was because he wasn't good on the ball? Had they seen him lose his temper with Sbu?

"Kgaogelo Ramabulana, and the final one selected..."

Isaac's heart skipped. Was it him?

"Isaac Adams."

He let out a sigh of relief.

Damn! He'd nearly gotten a heartattack... He was unknowingly trembling from the anxiety. He noticed it, and forcibly calmed himself down.

"The boys who had been called, please come forward."

Isaac stood up and joined the group in the front.

"The rest of you still have a chance to impress the scouts who will be here tomorrow. You are all dismissed." the disgruntled players got up, each of them as dissatisfied as the next one. Isaac looked away from them and looked at who had been selected. Sfiso being selected was expected, Theo was amazingly good with his feet, and he was also strong and agile. That midfielder, his name was Kgaogelo, he was a nightmare... And...

Isaac looked down at himself. He wore black gloves, in an effort to mimic Paul pogba, one of his favorite footballers. He always admired the footballers flair and most importantly, his sense of style. Not many footballers were like him, and Isaac would play like him if he had the same ball skills. Unfortunately, now he tried to replicate players like muller and giroud. He focused on utilizing his insufficient skills to maximum efficiency, allowing him to score. Also, if he has the freedom to, he could find himself in dangerous spots to finish.

Well, he couldn't complain. He'd been selected, and he had gotten a supernatural system. Speaking of the system...

[HIDDEN MISSION COMPLETED!]

[GOLD CARD ACQUIRED!]

[OPEN?]

"Open..." He was trembling with excitement as he watched the card open. On it was an african man with a shaved head with a neatly groomed goatee. This style emphasized his strong facial features and gave him a sleek and fashionable appearance. On him was a Nigerian shirt.

[DOES PLAYER WISH TO ACTIVATE CARD?]

[YES/NO]

"Oh my..." Isaac unknowingly muttered out aloud. "Days..."

"Arent you getting surprised a little too late?" Theo's voice reached Isaac.

"Oh sh- I mean I was still trying to process everything."

"Were you?" Theo laughed aloud, then after he had finished laughing, his face grew serious.

"I'm sorry for wasting your pass. You could have had a good assist there. Plus, we could have lost if you didn't make that tackle. We're just lucky we had you and Sfiso, but I was just pulling you guys down with my performance."

Isaac looked at him in surprise before bursting into laughter.

" Let me ask you a question, did we win? "

Theo nodded.

" Then you have nothing to worry about. You helped us get that win too, you know. "

Theo who had been looking unsure, nodded. He seemed to have regained some of his confidence, at least.

"Now, we will introduce you to the scouts who had chosen you."

"Isaac Adams, Sfiso Hlanti, and Theo Cele, come here. You've all been chosen by this respectable gentleman, Mr Patrick Woods. You can speak to him separately."

Isaac shook hands with the caucasian man, before the man spoke.

"You already know who I am, but I'm sure you're far more interested in which football club I represent, right?"

Isaac nodded, along with his other two team mates. His eyes were filled with interest.

"I am from a professional premier league club, in England. I came here because of the prolific Nelson Mandela day, and I represent the professional football club, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C."
