Nobody looked up from their positions as she walked past the entire room and knocked on Dylan's office before pushing down the handle and taking a step in.
Dylan glanced up, his eyes cold and professional until they finally landed on her and softened a little. "You're approximately 36 seconds late," he said, glancing down at his watch.
That's because your entire base is a fucking maze!
"You've got to be kidding me."
He laughed out, his eyes crinkling at the ends. "I'll let it slide this time. First-day privileges and all that. But make sure not to be late next time or the others will think I'm granting you favors."
