He frowned, as if wondering the answer himself. "I don't know," he said. "Maybe because it makes me realize how small I am in reality. Compared to the stars. I'm nothing compared to the galaxies above in the sky. Humans come. Humans go. Nothing's forever. It makes me feel better about all this mess." he glanced at her. "I won't be here forever to make your life miserable."
Haven smiled, and deep down, she wanted nothing more than to punch his face for saying words like that. Words that clawed against her heart and ripped it into pieces. Because if he was gone, who would she hate? Who would she irritate and annoy to hell and back?
"If it makes you feel any better," she whispered, not knowing what else to say. "Being stuck with you isn't as bad as you think."
