The thrill rushed through her bones as she stepped harder on the ignition, searching for the turbo button and finding it. Laughing to herself, she hit the button, and her car sped up.
The feeling was like no other, a high that only racing could give you. She used to sneak out to do it back at the orphanage, betting playfully with the gangs that handled them. Haven thought she had lost her touch, but she guessed she thought wrong.
The earth shot past her, feeling as if she were in another realm of its own. The smooth road and clean tires felt like a bed of daisies, the exhilaration only a plus to the everlasting danger she felt sitting behind this wheel.
