Haven sighed. She'd been trying to contact Gavin forever from a burner phone but for some reason, he wasn't picking up. She couldn't go to his house since if somebody was still keeping an eye on her, they would probably get suspicious and inform Zei without batting an eyelash.
Too risky.
She glanced at the laptop screen, several websites open stating the different types of curses but none of them told anything about the condition Zei was suffering through.
Suddenly, the hair stood up on the back of her neck, fingers almost instinctively backing away from the keyboard.

The curse's voice made her drop her hand, a rich tone spilling out across her mind without warning. She sucked in a breath and clutched at her chest, trying to calm her pulse.
The curse had her nerves ripe for a shock.
"You're…" she whispered, her eyes darting around to make sure no one was around before continuing. "You're back again, then?"
