Haven exhaled. "Just pretend nothing happened and act normal for once?"
Lily pouted. "Mean."
"Thanks."
Taking the stairs two at a time, she paused on the last one and peeked around the corner to make sure that nobody was around to startle her before they reached the dining room.
"We're clear." Lily creeped out ahead and then straightened her shoulders, the room coming into sight, looking almost like Hell at a distance.
Stepping in, Haven was utterly unprepared for what greeted her sight as soon as she raised her head. Everyone except for Draco and Abigail were sitting on the table but that wasn't what made her heart drop to the floor, shattering like the vase placed nearby.
It was Zei, standing in the corner and hugging a girl who had her face buried in his neck, her arms around his neck as he swung her around lightly, a small smile on his face that she felt she'd never seen before.
