Chapter 1 - Spark

Flames make life.

Flames take life.

Flames break lives.

Flames do a lot.

And Sparks start Flames.

Sparks start rebellions.

Sparks start a lot.

Sparks also started the steady rise and fall of the human race as we knew it. Causing a never-ending cycle of ups and downs.

Sparks wiped out humanity by starting fires. They wiped out humanity time and time again. Almost sadistically.

They broke down humanity only to try again. Letting humans fall to the exact same sins repeatedly. It tried giving sentience to nonhuman beings, but those beings were not good enough. The same way humans weren't good enough.

Once a Spark nears the end of its life, it gives birth to a single Flame it might just cherish and allow to grow. Although temporary, the Flame will be allowed to grow, until water comes and douses it.

Now, as the final Spark neared the end of its life, it gave humans the ability to control things.

Sure, humans had forcefully taken control of things before, but this time, the Spark planted a seed at the core of the Earth, a seed that would give humans control over whether or not they survived.

But the impact of the Sparks was not so easily forgotten. Humans tore each other down countless times, only to restart, still not knowing of the seed hidden within their planet.

It took nearly five billion years until the Earth became civil enough to awaken the seed the last Spark planted, and the impact of that seed would never be forgotten.
