Chapter 3 - Another World II

Although the looks of the cities in the human side is pretty horrible, it seems their government and society system is more or less functional.

Currently, they are in a feudal society wherein the majority of its populace are called commoners, while the rest are either nobles or royalties. And that continent of theirs of which I thought to be unified under one banner is unexpectedly in a dire situation that could lead their destruction.

They are still separated.

I am disappointed, truly, but not to an extent where I should hold my head with my hand. They are humans after all, beliefs and tradition must've kept them from advancing which makes it more pretty realistic.

I'm just glad that they are acting like that since that makes me feel a sense of familiarity. I never know, I might even stay here for the remainders of the my reality's world's lifespan.

Speaking of which, I am currently a quantum digital entity. Although I am inside an advance running computer, I am still capable of neurological stimulation that makes my experience a lot more realistic.

I can sense, I can see.

Ah, I can't even fathom how big the data Alice created just to generate this body of mine, much less the entire universe. Every specks of dust, every particle, it was coded and programmed.

When I even tried to touch the grass beneath me, I sense a weird sensation of nostalgia. How accurate can Alice be?

Going back to the human of this universe. It seems obvious what decision I would make regarding them.

For now, I have to continue my plan to educate the beastkins that needed to be put under a single ruler so they can catch up with the rest of the civilization.

[System Notice: Alice has joined the server.]

Oh, it seems she's here.

When I turned my body, I saw white particles from the fragments of air condensing. There, a figure of a humanoid creature slowly forms out of nowhere.

This creature is Alice, the current and literal God of this universe. She has an albino feature which she emphasize by making her hair white that extends towards her back, her eyelashes white, eyebrows white, and her skin porcelain white.

She also have blue fierce eyes, pale face and a figure of a lady who seems to be in her late 20's.

She's just beautiful.

Soon after she finished creating herself, the two of us met each other's eyes. We stand against each other at the same level with a few meters apart.

"Master."

Alice, a companion of mine throughout my research which I also created for that same purpose. She's an artifical superintelligence that is also capable of expressing emotion.

At first, she was unable to. However, after my breakthrough in "Consciousness" I was able to upgrade her features.

She was figureless, of course, since it is still impossible for me alone to create an exact replica of a human in the reality. And creating a humanoid figure full of flaws will only kept her caged in a metal box.

She helped me solved numerous task that I was unable to do alone. She even gave me ideas on the theory of afterlife after proving the existence of consciousness.

She lived with me for decades, only serving me to the best that she can while I dedicated myself on my research.

She reminds of her.

I gave a scoff from such a thought, Alice notices this and turn her head that made her look like an confused innocent lady.

"It's nothing... It's great to see you, Alice."

"It's a pleasure, Master. You must be disappointed by the body I created for you. I apologize for that, It seems I am still flawed when it comes to human anatomy."

"Don't be too harsh on yourself. You are a self-programming ASI, which means you are still learning."

Slowly, Alice attempts to lessen our distance. And once she had approached me, she rest her head to my chest, tighten the grip of her hands to my clothes' hem, and murmur.

"Master... It is nice to know you are still alive."

I heard a weak sniff coming from her. Realizing what she's talking about, I raise both of my hands and hug her slender body while patting her head in order to comfort her.

"The test was successful, so we made it."

"We barely made it, master...*sniff*... The optic fiber was destroyed seconds after your consciousness was transferred. If for some reason the transferring were late for even a nanosecond, you wouldn't have made it."

"I see."

The optic fiber, a wired cable capable of transferring data with the speed of light. It was an enhanced version of the modern optic fiber made to send a lot more accurate data.

However, it is still flawed.

Sending data means it also send energy. Smaller data makes the transfer a lot more easier and the risk of destruction is slim. But heavier data transfer are a lot more difficult, successful transfer chances are also low and the risk is horrifying.

Since the optic fiber uses light to transfer data, it travels with the speed of light. If the cable were destroyed, the data being transferred will be corrupted and spread throughout the server.

"You must've done a lot more trouble just to save me. I thank you for that."

Me being here, the universe still intact, and her being late means that she successfully isolated the cable's connection from the server. That alone is a hard job considering she have to fight against light itself just to save me.

"It was nothing master, I never thought your warnings would happen but it was a good experience that I have learned."

"I see, you utilize your knowledge more than a mere human can do. Just how superior can you be?"

"Save your flattery for later, master. Although I did saved the server, I am unable to salvage your physical body."

"Which means?"

"You will be unable to return to the reality and will remain stuck here with the experimental subjects so long as I am yet to create a fully functional biological vessel of yours that you can use. You will become the same as me."

"I don't see any problem with that."

"But I learned that humans are incapable of living for more than a hundred years. I know you are immortal and extraordinary, master. But you must know, the limit of your consciousness is still low."

"That's why you are here. To help me solve that problem of mine."

Alice raise her head and looked at me with a worried expression. But I rest assure her by giving her a warm smile while still patting her head.

"Every seconds on reality, 22 seconds passes here, right?"

"Yes, master."

"Then, we just need to take our time and take it easy. We don't need to worry much about the reality as long as there's nothing grave happening such as world war or an alien invasion. For now, we stay here. Doesn't that sound wonderful?"

"Mhmm.."

Upon finishing the conversation, I held the hand of Alice and gently pull her while I walk through the vast plain.

"Then, let's go. We still have to see what we can do about the beastkins."

She move her hair at the back of her ear and gave me the best smile she could ever give.

"Yes, master. Isn't that the one you told me to create?"

Which I misunderstand and regret.

"A-ah... Yes."

Alice must've pry on my head while I was being transferred here so she might have known the idea behind the creation of that species. But I can't really blame myself about that.

I was lonely at that time, I can't even get another partner which resulted to me questioning my own gender. It was tough to do things alone.

And if not for her, I would've created a more dubious things such as sex dolls or whatever I find to be a necessary thing for man.

"I don't blame you at all, master. I know humans have urges that they must take care of. That is also why humans partner each other with their gender counterpart, to fulfill their desire, am I right?"

"Ye-yeah... You're half right, but Alice, it's not just all about sexuality. It's also about the need of love."

Alice hang her head then suddenly went through a contemplation.

"Ah, Love. Yes, I know that."

"Yes, that love. Now let's go before it gets dark. You told me it's quite a challenging task to survive in the dark here right?"

"Well, you are right, master. But that only applies for the inhabitants of this universe. After all, we are the creator of this, I can always modify the livings' traits so they won't attack us."

"Then, that would be a lot less challenging. There's not fun in that."

While talking, I have noticed that we finally arrived in the island's shoreline. There, the crystal blue ocean reflects the sun's light while sending cold breeze towards us.

"If you say so. Then I'll just create a boat capable of traversing this vast ocean water. Please, master, help me gather some wood planks so we can start building as soon as we can."

I stopped my track after hearing the absurd word coming out from Alice. And when I turn, I saw her still wearing that smile that I mistook for being genuine.

It's a mischievous smile of her that she seem to have learned from us.

"C-Can't we just fly through it, Alice? It would probably take us more than a month to cross the ocean if we use boats."

"Whaaaat, master...? Won't that be a lot less challenging? There'll be not fun in that!"

Terrifying. This lady is terrifying.
