A tired-looking male was on the ground, sticky red blood oozing from his deep wounds while his body twisted into impossible angles. Two large shards of glass pierced his lungs and face. It was a tragedy that he forwent fastening his seatbelt in a rush to get home.
Today was the anniversary of his wife's death; since that day three years ago, his entire life has become bleak and grey; although his family tried to spur him on, friends told him to try and get out and meet new people.
He loved her.
He loved her with all his heart, and she was cruelly taken away.
The church claimed it was time for her to go.
The doctors said there was nothing modern medicine could do but delay her passing.
The man's eyes peered to the sky, almost feeling a wonderful light enveloping his body and his limbs growing cold as it became increasingly harder to breathe.
'Is this it?' He thought, the sense of dull pain, like pins and needles around his entire body, the burning sensation from his right arm hanging from the black family car's shattered window, swaying in the wind like waving goodbye to him.
'I just wanted to place the flowers at her grave... Could you not have waited to take my old, tired life until then? You old grey-haired bastard!'
Unable to speak, the man cursed to the sky above, forced to use his mind, focusing all his heart on this angry sentence as the various blue and red petals fluttered over his lacerated body.
His name was Lucifer Argentus, or so the nametag that dropped from his chest declared; as if empowered by the gentle light that enveloped him, he could feel her presence in the darkness as his eyes lost their vision.
A small photograph of a beautiful woman in her late 20s appeared, filled with folds and marks from where sweat and fingerprints rubbed the image.
The picture was so valuable that he seemed to often look at and treasure it dearly.
'Alicia?'
'Is that you... Did you come to meet me...? You were always one to know me better than myself, haha... This tired old man... finally, he can return to your loving embrace.'
The distant sound of sirens echoed in the background as the man's hand reached out, as if touching something in the air, his blood forming a large pool as the faint beating of his heart grew slower as if seeing this image of Alicia was all he needed to rest.
'Even after all those years since you've gone... I still love you; the times I could not say those words due to my stubborn nature... How I regretted them the moment you were gone; if I could relive our time together, I would surely.... surely....'
Lucifer's eyes became dull, his hand slowly dropping as it slapped against the ground several times, his last breath alone, in this deserted and icy cold forest trail, as the ambulance's siren finally seemed to approach, but alas, it was far too late.
Those up above seem to have come for his soul.
A beautiful woman, her face almost the same as a woman in her early 20s, floated down, her body hovering over Lucifer's with a gentle look, her hands, pure as white snow, silkier than freshly washed velvet, began to stroke the male's face.
She looked like the image in the photograph where they stood together, kissing each other, just a little younger and more divine.
He was rather handsome, but life's challenges caused him to have a few wrinkles around 39.
The way she caressed his face was neither like a messenger from above nor a bringer of death.
"Oh, Lucifer... My dearest husband... I told you to forget me if I left your side... You big stubborn fool..."
"I love you too."
"I will love you even if you are reborn into a worm."
Alicia began to wipe her tears as her wings fluttered, 4 pairs of feathery white wings to symbolise her true identity and power.
"When we met, I was void of any memory, unable to function as a person; then you saved me. Took me in without asking for anything, taught me how to speak, read, even helped me attend college...."
The EMTs surrounded his body, starting their procedures, trying to resuscitate him and save his life, but they phased through her body as she looked at him in this bizarre world.
"Lucifer... I cannot repay the things you did for me, the feelings you taught me as an angel that should never have been able to feel such things as love, lust and deep affection. I see the world now as if it's painted in colour, my love for humanity and the creatures of this planet more than anything before.'
Her wings fluttered as it seemed countless angels were coming after her; a silver necklace was inside her hand. She looked up momentarily, showing a frustrated look as they appeared to be calling a name.
"My darling, I cannot be with you... I hope you will be happy with this gift I am giving you."
The silver necklace began to sparkle with an argent light, engulfing the area as it poured a strange radiance into Lucifer's body, causing him to shudder and convulse slightly—the EMTs thought nothing of it as they were using the defibrillator at the exact moment.
"Please forgive me until you have the power to protect yourself."
"You won't be able to remember me... My love..."
"I beg you to live freely, live happily... until the day we meet again."
"My beloved Lucifer."
Alicia's body glowed with golden light; as she began to chant a strange language, countless golden spears started to rain down, shooting towards her body, but she continued, her wings batting them away.
Finally, with a loud explosion of energy, the silver pendant transformed into a silver necklace with a beautiful red gemstone that wrapped around Lucifer's neck before she watched a ghostly image of him leaving his body, still sleeping, as it floated past the angel's faster than a jet firing into space.
"I will love you no matter what you become, always remember only that!"
Her beautiful voice sounded like a dream-like reminder before he vanished from this star.
Alicia flicked her hand towards the group of angels, her face no longer the soft and gentle woman with golden eyes and blond hair, now fierce and filled with a bloodthirsty aura.
"You low-class bastards dare to interrupt my last moment with my beloved husband! Know that oblivion and eternal damnation is your only destination!"
The moment her finger pointed towards them...
They exploded into a bloody mist, their feathers bursting across the earth, leaving an empty spot in the sky.
"Darling, I cannot give you those wonderful violets and orchids you love as a send-off..."
"But you will accept Angel feathers, right?"
On this night, the humans that lived in this region would call it the night of the falling angels.
Located in the southern reaches of the Union forest area, millions of feathers and strange blood fell to the earth, causing all nature and flora to rejuvenate as massive forests and vibrant greenery began to grow and appear like magic.
Some believed it to be the coming of a new golden era, that god finally accepted humanity, and they would ascend into heaven.
Others thought it symbolised the apocalypse, which spurred panic buying, stocks crashing, and finally, a great war that would throw this world into chaos.
That is another tale, as we follow the silver soul of Lucifer Argentus travelling to a distant world in a remote galaxy hidden far away from the universe he used to live in.
A world of magic, mythical races, dark, gloomy forests and divine beings who dictated the inhabitants to follow specific rules in exchange for power and prosperity.
The world was named "Celestia", A name that Lucifer might find uncanny...
Because Celestia was the world, a particular adult game he was playing was set and might prepare him for the lustful and dangerous adventures ahead of him.
