…
*Slash!*
*Roar!*
A spider-like, huge, deep green monster roared in pain; four of its legs were missing. The fast spider from before was extremely slow and weak.
In front of it was a smaller yet more aggressive white monster with a long snout and alligator-like teeth. Every time the huge spider would attack, it wouldn't try to dodge and would trade wounds for wounds.
Its long mouth would open and sever a leg every time the enemy would attack, completely discarding its own life.
The original white fur was now covered in red bloody marks; one of its arms was missing, and half of its face was melting. Yet it didn't show the slightest pain.
Just as the huge spider was about to retreat, it instantly covered its head with the homing web, blocking an ice spear.
Before it could rejoice, it head exploded in a rain of green and red flesh.
"Fuweh, these shitty things have a terrifying instant and vitali- Hey you dumbass! Stop attacking the corpse! " before he could finish, the white hybrid continued attacking what was left of the corpse like a mindless creature.
"What name will you give it?" From a distance, a white haired girl could be seen walking toward them.
"Hmm, donno. How about Croc haha!"
"I don't know; it's yours."
"Alright, hey you come here!" When it heard his master talk to it, it walked toward him and sat.
"From now on, your name shall be Croc." The white monster didn't look happy, nor sad, it just laid there like a status.
Its wounds slowly healing at the hands of Dante. Croc had been tanking every attack but was also a force to recon with as it would strike back every time it got hit.
In a duel, it would surely die, but fortunately, it was assisted by the vicious and fatal attacks of Skull and Sylph.
These battles were extremely costly in mana, and thus, they would hunt at most two of such monsters a day. That is, if they could find the second one.
They were extremely hard to discern and, in time, to discover. Their dark green chitin completely camouflages them up in trees with dark leaves.
A lot of adventurers have lost their lives to these almost invisible predators and their inescapable and lifelike web.
*squeak*
Just as they were about to retrieve the spider's core, they heard a small squeak coming from behind the spider.
"Another enemy?" Dante looked at the skull but was only met by its cute tilt of the head.
They then cautiously approached the sound of the noise and stumbled upon a very big rock against a hill. It didn't take a genius to figure out the situation.
"Croc, move that rock." At his order, the white monster pushed the rock to the side, rolling for a bit before smashing into a tree, almost breaking its trunk.
Behind the rock was a cave; it was extremely dark, and the entrance was covered in white web.
"What do you think?" He asked Sylph, who looked uninterested.
She just walked forward, a small flame appearing in her hand a few seconds later.
"I knew you liked thrills too!"
As they made their way in the dark tunnel, they heard more and more little sounds like bats. After more walking downward, they arrived in a place that would make any sane human shiver in fear and disgust.
It was a nest filled with hundreds of spiders and eggs. It was a huge underground cave, and there were corpses everywhere. In them were white eggs.
"Oh, interesting, they use corpses as incubators. How nice and practical!"
"Erh…" Sylph, who usually never showed any expression, was dumbfounded at Dante's morbid fascination for such horrors.
She was already accustomed to his weird nature, but she was also somewhat disgusted by this scene she had never heard of.
"Why nice?" she inquired.
"Oh, well, have you never wondered if a pregnant woman could give her unborn child to something else and work?"
She didn't ask anything else, fully knowing that his way of thinking tilted a lot toward the logical and not the moral.
