Chapter 11 - Doubt

"Tari suddenly asked me, 'Yuzuru, do you trust Set, yes or no?'"

Yuzuru felt surprised and a little frightened by the question. "Why are you asking it all of a sudden?" she replied.

"You just answer," Tari insisted.

"It's strange for Tari-san to ask me that. I really don't know what to answer him. I met Set two days ago, and although he has shown me to be a good person, I guess I can't completely trust him. After all, we've only known each other for two days," Yuzuru thought.

"I trust him a little," Yuzuru finally replied.

"It's okay. Yuzuru, Set is very strange. I never wanted to form a group with him, but a friend recommended me to do so. He hasn't done anything wrong to me, but I've noticed some things that don't make me trust him," Tari said.

"But he comes across as a good person," Yuzuru commented.

"You are right, Yuzuru. People can be good or bad, and you really don't know what they are like until you get to know them well. There are people who hide their true selves for various reasons, such as fear, anger or hatred of others. Also, to him, you may not matter at all. I ask you to watch your back, because you seem like a good person, at least that's what I feel," Tari warned.

"Thank you very much, Tari-san. I appreciate your words. I can't deny that you're right. Sometimes, people can be cruel or mean for no reason. I used to have someone like that in my life," Yuzuru revealed.

"Who was it?" asked Tari.

"At this moment, who was it? I remember feeling hatred towards people close to me, but who was that person?" pondered Yuzuru.

BEWARE, Yuzuru!

Without realizing it, Tari carried me like a princess, Yuzuru thought.

"They're attacking us. This place is far away from the monster zone. How did they get here?" exclaimed Tari.

"Watch out, Tari-san, it's coming after you!" warned Yuzuru.

Tari-san took an incredible leap to get away from the monsters. Yuzuru wondered what Tari-san's level would be, she thought.

"Tari-san, could you put me down for a moment, please?" said Yuzuru embarrassed.

"Okay, sorry. I'll put you down now. Hide somewhere. Leave it to me. I'll finish quickly," Tari replied.

Watching how Tari-san fought, Yuzuru noticed that he had very fine movements. She seemed to have a lot of combat experience, but despite that, she showed no fear at all. She was fighting with confidence. Yuzuru wished to be like her. Besides, she was a bit smaller than him. He really questioned what he was doing there; he thought he was just a burden to Tari-san.

"I'm done, Yuzuru. They were very low-ranked monsters, it wasn't that hard," Tari-san said.

Yuzuru drank some water and thanked Tari-san for saving him. "And sorry for not doing anything," Yuzuru added.

"Don't worry, I wanted to protect you," Tari replied.

Yuzuru couldn't help but ask, "Why did you want to protect me?"

"Why would that be? I think you remind me of someone I was very fond of. I guess that's why I did it," Tari revealed.

"Again, thank you, Tari-san, for everything. But I have a question, could you tell me what level you are? You defeated those monsters with ease", Yuzuru asked.

"I'm level 4," replied Tari-san.

"That's pretty high, Tari-san. That's surprising," Yuzuru expressed.

"Not as high as Set. He's stronger than me," Tari mentioned.

"Why do you say so, Tari, what level is Set at?", Yuzuru inquired.

"He is one of the few people who has gone over the limit," Tari revealed.

"The limit? Yes, I heard that after level 5, leveling up becomes much more complicated. I had also heard that only 200 people had reached beyond level 5," Yuzuru mused.

"He is level 7," Tari revealed.
