Chapter 13 - Spiritual Training AKA Studying

Deep in the forest, Darius is currently lifting two cars with his mind. Whilst being healed by his grandfather.

He was then told to stop, and Darius released the two cars and would have fallen to the ground if not for Crawford constantly energising him.

MC POV

I could feel my Psionic Powers growing. This feeling of my powers growing excites me, but I want more.

I believe it's time for my spiritual training to start.

My grandfather then spoke.

"Alright, Darius, it is time we start your spiritual training. This training will strengthen your magic powers and knowledge."

"I shall demonstrate one of my most powerful spells."

He then turned his attention to a random tree and raised his right hand.

"This spell is one of the most strongest spells there are in the branch of dark magic. If you continue making me proud, I will teach you this spell."

To be able to make a black hole appear out of nowhere is frightening and incredible.

Having a spell like this in my arsenal can be very useful and dangerous as I might get absorbed by the black hole.

Grandfather then opened another portal and went inside. When he came back, there was a woman.

This woman was tied up like the male rebel who is currently a human barbecue like Armin. But he's dead.

"This woman right here, Darius, is also a rebel like the man you fried like a barbecue."

The woman looked horrified when she saw the corpse. She vomited at the sight.

My grandfather didn't look very happy at what she had done.

"Allow me to explain what we are going to do with your magic training."

He then got out a book with a weird symbol on it.

"You will mainly study the ways of magic and learn spells. As well as increasing your magical reserves. In other words, you are basically doing a bit of studying."

"Grandfather, if that's the case. Then why did you bring this woman here."

Grandfather had a grin as I said those words.

"She will be used in a ritual, Darius. A ritual you will do."

This reminded me of the books I read from my book shelf back home.

Rituals were very similar to science experiments, but some rituals required the sacrifice of a soul.

"The book I am currently holding contains the details of a ritual that will strengthen your mental shields."

He gave the book to me. It had only a few pages that were full, and the rest were blank. I began reading all of it.

The ritual basically requires a single soul in order for it to work. I have to draw a magic circle and stand at the centre as I utter the incantations for this ritual.

The incantation for rituals is different from spells as you just have to say the name of the spell.

The incantation for rituals is longer. The incantation in this book was basically like a poem.

My grandfather opened up another portal and gestured for me to follow. The female rebel still tied up, levitated, and went through the portal.

After walking through the portal, I was in a dark room with a desk that had candles as a form of light.

"All you have to do, Darius, is draw the magic circle with the blood of the rebel and utter the incantations."

I nodded, then thought about using either my magic or mind. I decided to go with magic in order to increase my reserves.

I walked towards the centre of the room and turned my attention towards the female rebel.

I then raised my right hand and focused manipulating my magical energy that was in my magic core.

I formed a dagger and cut the cheek of the woman. When she began bleeding, I used magic to draw the circle with her blood.

It was quite easy as the circle was basically a star shape with a circle around it.

I drew it around me, and my grandfather looked with interest.

When the circle was complete, I began to read the incantation out loud.

With every word I spoke, I felt a strange feeling. The female rebel slowly started turning pale, and a bright blue orb came out from her mouth.

This colour reminded me of my time in the Void, where I was just a humanoid that was bright blue.

The energy began to go inside the circle. The rebel was now a dried up corpse.

As I finished the incantation, the circle began glowing, and in an instant, I was engulfed blue energy.

I was about to use my magic to try to form a shield, but then I felt something. My shields were getting stronger, I could feel it.

The light slowly disappeared, and my shields were full of strength.

My grandfather walked up and patted my back.

"Well done, Darius. You have successfully done a ritual for the first time. You have great talent. Make sure to use it wisely."

"I will grandfather."

So, my mental shield got a power boost, and my reserves increased a bit.

"Now for the next stage."

He clapped his hands, and we were back in the forest. But this time, there were training dummies.

"Your goal is to destroy these dummies, though I must warn you, they are quite durable."

I prepared a dark fireball and threw towards them. An explosion occurred, and the dummies had only a scratch.

I then absorbed magical energy from my surroundings and cast dark fireball many times.

12 minutes later

The dummies were now destroyed, and my reserves felt bigger.

"Very good, Darius. Now it is time we begin your studies."

Grandfather teleported us back at the mansion and told me to go to the library.

I began reading books after books.

Suddenly, I had an idea: What if I were to enhance my brain with mana.

But then I decided not to in fear of becoming brain dead.

So I went back to my reading. This library held a lot of knowledge about magic and the soul.

Apparently, there is no afterlife. We just go to the realm of souls and reincarnate into any living entity, e.g, tiger.

But how did this realm come to be?

My question had no answer as no one knew how it came to be.

I then read more books and added more spells to my arsenal. There were also many rituals, too.

Some of these rituals were useful, but others were quite strange.

Apparently, my great grandfather was a lustful man and created a ritual to make his Penis bigger in order to mindbreak some women.

Almost all my relatives were degenerates like me but kept their behaviour in check in fear of the royal family.

Speaking of the royal family, the books say that the Emperor is dying and needs an heir.

It says here that the Emperor wants to die as a normal man and believes immortality to be a curse.

His wife was heartbroken at her husbands state.

The Emperor does not want his eldest son to succeed him as he is naive and easy to manipulate.

No matter how hard the Emperor tries, his son refuses to change his ways.

This interesting information, perhaps I can use this to my advantage.

But scheming later, studying now.
