Kai and the wolf, with its green fur, find themselves in a peaceful clearing, their gazes locked in a silent understanding. The forest appears to hold its breath as if anticipating the outcome of their conversation.
Kai breaks the silence, his voice soft but curious. "Do you regret your decision to kill them?"
The wolf meets his gaze without hesitation. "No, not a bit," it replies, a flicker of fierce determination in its eyes.
Kai nods slowly. "Then isn't it all okay?" he asks gently. "What's wrong with protecting your loved ones?"
The wolf's expression softens, and a hint of relief washes over its features. "You're a strange human," it remarks, an almost smile-like expression crossing its lupine face.
Kai can't help but return the smile. "You're not one to talk," he quips. "My name is Kai."
The wolf nods, acknowledging the introduction. "Okay, Kai."
The wolf grows more interested.
Moves closer, studying Kai with its eyes. "Hey Kai," it starts, "what made you go far into the forest? Were you looking for something? Did you just get lost?
You're fortunate to have crossed paths with someone like me, someone who doesn't jump to killing right away. If it had been someone else, things might not have turned out well for you."
Kai's face contorts with realization. He quickly reaches into his pocket. Retrieves his phone, anxiously checking the time.
His eyes widen in alarm; it's already 5:00 a.m. He has to hurry and catch a train home; otherwise, he'll find himself in trouble.
Noticing the change in Kai's expression, the wolf asks, "What's the matter, Kai?"
With a sense of urgency in his voice, Kai explains his predicament. He has to catch a train; otherwise, he'll encounter a multitude of problems.
The wolf, sensing Kai's predicament, stands up with determination. "Get on," it says, "I'll take you out of the forest."
"Really?" Kai exclaims, his eyes filled with gratitude.
The wolf nods, but it adds a word of caution. "I can only take you out of the forest, not further. Venturing deeper could cause problems."
Kai flashes a smile. Reassured, "Don't worry. I truly appreciate the fact that you can take me out from here."
Kai hops onto the wolf's back, feeling a rush of both anticipation and gratitude. With Kai settled in safely, the wolf wastes no time.
With a burst of speed, it launches forward gracefully, navigating through the forest like a true inhabitant of the woods.
As Kai grips onto the wolf's back, he can't help but marvel at its power and swiftness. It's evident that the wolf could have effortlessly overwhelmed him had it chosen to attack.
The mere thought sends a shiver down his spine.
The forest whisks by in a blur of earthy brown tones, gradually eroding Kai's initial fear and replacing it with an overwhelming sense of admiration and reverence for this majestic creature beneath him.
After what seems like a few moments, the wolf comes to a halt, near the fringes of the forest. It turns towards Kai. "Hey there, Kai."
Kai, opening his eyes (which he hadn't realized he'd closed due to the speed), replies with a slightly disoriented, "Huh? Have we arrived?"
The wolf gives a nod of agreement with an expression on its face. "Sure," it responds, "I won't be able to go any further from here.
You'll need to find your way from this point. But don't fret about getting lost; you can simply follow the trail on the ground."
Kai climbs down from the wolf's back, feeling grateful in his heart. "I really appreciate it," he sincerely expresses.
A hint of sadness crosses Kai's face as he embraces the wolf's neck. "Farewell," he says with a smile.
The wolf accepts the farewell, its eyes reflecting a mixture of emotions. "Hm," it acknowledges, "Go back safely."
Reluctantly, Kai releases his hold, takes a step back, casts a glance over his shoulder before embarking on the forest trail.
The wolf has already vanished, blending into the depths of the woods.
Though feeling a tinge of melancholy from their separation, Kai presses on. He needs to hurry to the train station to catch his ride home.
With each stride, he leaves behind the enchanting forest. The memories of his encounter with the green wolf will linger forever.
He reaches the outskirts of the village after several minutes of running, his heart still pounding from the encounter.
With the village ahead, he can now concentrate on reaching his train.
Determined not to waste any time, Kai heads towards the train station. He's fully aware that he's running behind schedule and can't afford any mistakes.
The forest and the enigmatic wolf are behind him, and the world of humans and trains awaits him.
