Chapter 3 - Chapter 3:

She hoped off her bed like it was natural. Her short legs began making their way towards the nearest mirror, as she struggled to get on the tall chair. She finally climbed up as her small hands touched her reflection.

Long white hair which touched her back and beautiful blue eyes like a sapphire, and an extremely beautiful and doll-like face, she looked at her own reflection dazed.

"I look too pretty", she remarked about herself.

"Ah miss, are you awake?" a maid came in and asked. "Ah yes", Rebecca answered back and got dressed before leaving for breakfast with her family.

On her now short legs, she strode onwards as her white hair trailed behind her like a cape. As she walked through the corridor towards the dining hall, her family came into view.

At the apex of the table was her father, with white hair and quite handsome appearance he sat at the table with some dignity. On his right was his wife, brown haired and blue eyes, she was beautiful and had a rounder belly.

Rebecca greeted them and sat at the left of the table, still struggling to climb up. She inwardly cursed her small stature. Her parents looked at her attempt to climb her seat, cute, they thought as they let her struggle for a bit. They knew all too well the pride of this incredibly small and cute bundle of joy would never ask for help.

Finally, after a bit of a struggle she faced the back of the seat, and turned her body towards the table where a smaller portion of food was kept on a slightly fancier plate. She looked at her parents, and gave a clumsy nod at them, knowing that they were probably thinking how cute their daughter was.

Thus, the whole family began eating their breakfast.

"Ele..."

"Elean..."

"ELEANOR VON RUSSEL!"

Rebecca was suddenly taken aback by the shout, "Yes, mother." She answered back.

"Is something bothering you? Is the food not to your liking?" her mother asked Eleanor. "No, it's very well made." Eleanor without missing a beat answered back.

The reason it took her this long to respond was because she still thought of herself as 'Rebecca'. It was hard and awkward getting used to an entirely different name than the one which you have used for 30 years.

Her mother looked a bit concerned but she her face changed from concern to a small smirk.

"Are you perhaps excited about your younger sibling?"

With a nod, Eleanor's mother had a bright smile on her face and her father also had a small smile on his face.

A beautiful growing family, there was nothing more Eleanor could've wished for more. If there was one thing which she thought she wanted to change was her family's origins.

The Russel family used to be known for their swordsmanship in the kingdom, the family of heroes. The Russel family was known for having a 'divine' body and innate talent for swords. But as the generations passed, the Russel family today was just a dying noble family as the swordsmanship talent had been lost for almost a century. The Russel family used to be an earl's family but now it was just a baron's family.

The talent of swordsmanship had been lost because of some circumstances, but the divine body still remained. Although Eleanor could fill in the lost talent of her family, she had no reason to do so. Their family was now a family which managed small businesses and owned quite a bit of land. So, there was no need to go back to her talents.

Eleanor did not complain. It was as she hoped, peaceful. Her family was well off. She just hoped that this happiness would last long. But her intuition was telling her to prepare for the worst; it seemed her habits of her old life were seeping in the new life as well. She wanted it to be wrong with all her might. However it was hard...so, she vowed to keep some side funds aside just in case.

That would be enough right?

It had been 4 years now that she reincarnated and had started learning etiquette early because she was thought to be very talented relative to her peers. Although what they didn't know was that she had learned all of this in her previous life. She might've been rusty but, it was much better than any other girl her age, so the baron family was very proud of her.

After breakfast, Eleanor returned to her room and lay on the bed. The bed was fluffy much better than the cold hard ground which reeked of blood.

She looked towards the mirror, and remembered when she reincarnated. It took almost 3 years for Eleanor to realize it wasn't just a silly dream.

She looked at the ceiling of her room which was well-ordained with various designs. It was quite beautiful and calming to look at. Drifting in her thought she recounted the facts she knew of this new world; an old habit of hers in her previous life as Rebecca.

This world and her previous one were very similar, so Eleanor didn't feel awkward fitting into this new world. Although, it wasn't that big of a deal as she was still a child and her ramblings would've been taken as ramblings from childish imagination.

Monsters existed but were un-unified just like her previous world before their unification by the demons. Goblins, orcs, lizard men, golems, all of those monsters and their behavior were all archived in the family's library because of its history, so Eleanor could learn many things about the new world in a quick span of time. The fauna and flora were the same too. It was like looking at the mirror image of her previous world, or an alternate timeline.

The world was very similar. So similar in fact that Eleanor thought she had reincarnated into the same world but in a different time period. That theory was quickly dismissed.

It definitely couldn't have been the future; there was no mention of the demon war or many new technologies that were developed during the war.

It couldn't even be the past, the geography was much too different and the historical cultures she knew didn't match up.

So, Eleanor concluded rationally that this was a new world.

The culture of this new world was however quite unique. While in her previous world, mages, warriors, knights, alchemist usually stood divided until the unification of demons, but this world's supernatural beings stood united. Of course, there would be small squabbles among the few individual joints that promoted only one "truth", or one "path", it was nowhere near the wars that occurred in the history of her previous worlds just because of small disagreements.

Time passed, Eleanor read a few books she had taken from the library, continuing her thoughts in random. She sometimes remembered having to be cleaned by her mother as a baby, she was still embarrassed with those memories, and of course if she could she would've done something about her urges back then. She sometimes remembered having to re-learn how to speak, and trying to forget the old language which left a weird accent.

"I wonder if they're doing well."

A thought popped in Eleanor's head making her feel a bit down.

But, she quickly suppressed her thoughts; she was Eleanor now, not Rebecca. So, she just wished the best for her past companions and focused on her current life.

It was a similar world, but none of that mattered to Eleanor. All that mattered to her were the peaceful days and her family.

Time seemed to go by.

She thought of that 'thing' which came up to her as she was reincarnated. She didn't have words to describe that being so, out of any suitable words she decided 'it' had to be God. Eleanor thought of something as she remembered that strange being, God.

"When God said that my wish would be granted, I wonder which way he interpreted the wish to be. There was many ways 'a happy life' or 'a better life' can be interpreted as...My old life wasn't exactly that sad or bad." Eleanor said in a soft voice.

Of course, she wanted a peaceful, better life but she sort of wished it wouldn't be uneventful. Eventful lives usually meant one had to struggle and despair so; she was divided on her opinion as well.

A peaceful uneventful life, or an eventful life which eventually lead to a peaceful ending, it was quite a dilemma for Eleanor.

"It shouldn't matter much anyways. If 'it' really was God then it would've known my intentions better than me, right?" she said aloud with a stronger energized voice hoping her current life would be better than her last one, more peaceful, and a bit eventful.

A bit of everything, she supposed a former grand master's new life ought to have a bit of everything right?

Well, it was eventful.
